I don't think so at all. Not at all, no way. Not even in self defense. Now all my friends that are girls think that in self defense is completely different. I still think hitting a girl is hitting a girl. If a girl tried to hit me, i would grab her arms and hold them behind their back, thus restraining them from hitting me any more. That is ok, but no hitting or punching. How do you people feel about this?

I wouldn't do that. I would basicly ward off the attack, but nothing real bad. I don't want to hurt a girl, but if it becomes nesicerry to hold her back, I will. Self Defence I think comes before that stupid, "Don't hit girls" rule. I mean, not STUPID, but, if someone hits me, I'm hitting them back. Regardless.

What makes it so that women deserve special treatment? I treat all people as equals. If I were the type to hit people who annoyed me, I would not have a problem hitting a woman.
How I live my life however, is the way of non-violence unless in self-defense, and even then attempting to preserve myself first, stop them without harm second, disable without lasting damage third, and run fourth, unless in mortal danger with no way to escape.
(If anyone mistakes this for meaning that I do not respect women, I will be quite upset. I respect most women more than most men, even if I treat everyone equally.)

I agree. Women shouldn't be able to use the "don't hit girls" rule thing just to hit us and we can't hit back. If i get hit, by anyone, i'm going to hit back, no matter the gender.

Who are you people getting in fights? I'm 21 and the only thing i ever had to do was hold a guy by his collar for him to back off.
However it would depend on the girl. If it was a common girl, i'd even let her hit me, since it would probably not hurt. If it was a girl with strength, i'd try to dodge any attacks, but i always try to dodge attacks. Furthermore, i'd probably never drive anybody to attack me.

Its not that I get into fights, its that people randomly try to cause me harm, or kill me. Thus I have a quite common need to defend myself.

I think that the "don't hit girls" ideal we are typically taught in school and from our father/authority figures, is just a way to curb abuse. In extreme situations, I would expect extreme solutions would have to be used in order for either protection of other or themselvs. Not neccessisarily a rule to live by. It would be easier to just make it more clear in saying "don't beat people because it's not nice and they don't like it" |

Hey, the only person I hang out with is myself. These coal-brained fools hunt me down because I am different, and I do not think immature things are funny. Aparently because of that I need to die. I dunno, but thats how they view me. I leave, they chase me down.
Anyway, back on topic...
I feel that society is still trying to treat women as less than men for some reason. For this reason, there seem to be differences in what is considered good for men and women. Since this goes against what I stand for, I just ignore it normaly. I treat all people equally until they have proven themselves in some form or another. This results in me treating everyone the same, be they men, women, black, white, american, asian, british, etc. (Yes, I know I missed a very large number of catagories, its just an example.)

Maybe it's just cause my mom had a boyfriend that broke her nose, fractured her eye socket, and broke something in her cheek, all in once. I was around her after it happened, and It sucked. It just made me feel really bad, because face it, Now this is not being sexist at all for the record, it's just something I think. In alot of cases (i didn't say all, or most), guys can do more damage by hitting than a girl can. So, maybe it's just the way I feel but, beating the living crap out of them is just horrible. I haven't ever gotten into any major fights before, although I've been close, but it happens alot that I get close lol. But I can proudly say I have never seriously considered the Idea of wanting to punch any girl at all. |

Hey, I know pleanty of ways of taking somone down with minimum amounts of *hitting* them. I don't really like hitting people but hey, if you do something that actually makes me want to hit you, then I probably will. I don't care about gender.

well the one good thing is, at least you guys are being honost. A guy should never hit a girl. there are numerous ways to keep people from hurting you other than hitting them. If you do not know how then you should learn. but I am a pretty big dude I weigh in at 240 and I am not fat. so there are probably a pretty short list of girls that could really hurt me. for you weak guys I say give them every opportunity to stop before you take any offensive actions.
