Not voices in my head, but voices that appeared to be caused by outside things, or that had been superimposed on already existing noises, like a bird chirping, or a car starting.. and sometimes they were faint voices, like a group of people, or one person, screaming (or at least talking loudly) at me from far away

Hah!, I've experienced the superimposition of intelligent sound over seemingly random background sound, and that really made me wonder. I still want to know, who or what has the capability to manipulate the physical universe like that, either my own imagination pulling intelligent signals from my environment, kind of like a radio recevier finding it's own frequency of reception in the sea of radio waves all around the planet, or something non-human like the universe itself or a large, conscious energy field that is within it.

I haven't done that in a while.

And as for the second example.

The only times I could discern which one was my own "Voice in the head" or which was a message being sent, was if I related it to an outside source. Like, I was skeptical and stubborn, I would always desire proof and some type of change in my environment, synchronized with a message I was getting, like they paired up, for me to ever fully realize what was going on. I think that was a flaw I had though. Ah well.
