ok .. today i had my pet bird out of his cage and he was sitting on my sholder. i started thinking really hard about him walking accross to my other sholder and after about 10 seconds he did . to make sure that this wasnt a coincidence i tried to make him do a few other small things .. and he did all of them . i know this is psi realated but what skill would it be under ?
ps. after i tested this out i decided that i am not going to do it to him again because i think it is unfair that i can mentaly control him.

Well personally. I don't belive that it is actually "controlling" the pet. Its more like your subconscious is asking the bird's subconscious to move and by that the bird moves. Its more of a give an take relationship more than a I RULE YOU relation ship. Or thats how it works for me. it could be different for others correct me if i am wrong..

i gess your right .. but i personly think its unfair because he cant do anything in return . also do you know if its the animals final say if he is going to do what i am asking him ? or is the thought so powerful that he will do it weather he wants to or not ?

Well you must think, most animals (excluding monkeys dolphins etc) are small brained and do not really notice stuff like this. I know this is a bad example and i promise i dont do this. But a Dog who's owner beats it. Still loves its owner. Because thats what they do. Novalok

but does the animal have enought mind power to not preform the task that it is told to ? for example if i mentaly told my bird to fly into a wall ( not that i would ever try this ) would he fly into the wall ? or would he relize that that isnt a smart idea and forget about it ? . ( sorry if i am being so difficult about this but i am really intrested in the way that animals think )

Well i am no animal science. But i belive that it really matter what sort of animal. Say you told a rat to run into a mouse trap. It would do it most likly. A bird. I am not sure. I am guessing it would. But try it on a cat or dog. And it would most likly be unsucessful.

Sounds to me like telepathic suggestion. I am actually quite good at it, got any questions? I'm in the process of writing a manual for it so I guess I'll post it eventually lol.
Incidentally, what kind of pet bird do you have? I have a couple as well.

Telepathic Suggestion was the words i was looking for. I am also skilled in the art. And its fun to play with. I used to use on my father so i didnt have to work.

I think the question is, the bird had nothing to think about. I can control a fly. If it's bothering me, I immagine "something" flying throught the door. And there it goes. Then it comes back. lol.
But when my dogs are with me I can't make them do anything, I think they're too excited cause i'm around. I should try it when they dont notice me.

Well we're talking about animals here.. so let's see... would we still classify this as suggestion? I mean... Seeing as that their primitive creatures and their brains do not have a lot of association areas, they'll act on impulses and instincts. Its a mixture of telepathy [conceptual, instinctive] and simple empathy. The Psion Guild had a term for it that I think suited it well... primalpathy. Simply nothing more than the sensing and/or affection of primal instincts and reactions (falls under telepathy...), BUT is it really suggestion? They really don't have large enough brains to select what they want to do at a certain time the way we humans can... Most of their activity is primitive and impulsive. So it wouldn't be 100% suggestion neither would it be 100% control in the case of animals such as birds and others that have little association areas. It seems like a mixture of both, although I don't technically know how someone can suggest and control all at once.. *shrugs* (Sounded as if I was rambling in this post).

Well I don't know, there have been studies done on African Grey parrots (some say the smartest parrot) and they will ask for particular treats, and know them by name. I personally think my cockatiel is quite smart... (I have a cockatiel, and two budgies)
I don't know if you've tried it, but I have used telepathic suggestion in training my animals. My birds can do a handful of tricks (such as fetch, catch, high five etc.), and my dogs are really quite well trained (heel sit stay, I'm currently teaching one of them to walk on her hind legs), I've used telepathic suggestion with all of them.
If you find it morally unethical to use TS to control them, why not use it to train them, or even just telepathy (remember to 'speak' in simple pictures they don't speak English). This generally creates a great learning environment, and it helps the animal to learn it faster.
