Good for that. Also another excuse you can make is your role-playing. Yes I know this is a total lie and really dishonors psionics as a real skill, it's one way to make you not rejected and just looked at weird. Say your creating a story which has a plot in which there is such thing as psionics and this part is writing about teaching it. If they see the articles say they're a side info for the story. It usually works if you explain how it can be a role-play in a detailed way.. It's better then being kicked out of the house or totally rejected. Better to explain slowly like Jedikaren said. I'm doing it and my father believes in a possibility but doesn't want me or him to go anywhere without absolute, scientific, proof, so I leave it at that and keep to myself.

It isn't really bad parenting, its more a lack of knowlege and misunderstanding, really. But ohemgee, that would have been very freaky telling your parents about it etc...

I agree with Meep. They were just scared for their son/daughter, and freaked out. They could have thought he was involved with some sort of cult, because there have been cults that teach 'psychic powers'.

Wow that's harsh. I guess I'm lucky, the whole community I live is pretty open, well at least they're not closed. Most people around here either say it's real and they don't care about it, or it's fake and they don't care if people do it. with the exception of a few god-fearing types that is.

I think I'd be right with my family, mum's done reiki before and I've mentioned some stuff about APing etc. to her and she's been open about it. Dad wouldn't believe he'd just let me do what i want though.

Hey guys. Im so happy to be back, and im very grateful for all the people here that supported me. Finding out that my mum is precognitive is so very weird. Makes me wonder if thats where i get my inate abilities from.

Anyway, i hope she doesnt join. She probably wont, mainly because she doesnt really have the time to do any practise or posting on the site. Although, my dad finds it kinda weird, he never really beleived in anything like this before. He also doensnt like that the fact that i know when he's lying or not :-).

Also, i would like to especially thank JediKaren and lordtakari. lordtakari, i know it was hard to go back to practising psi and joining psiworld after what happened, but im proud of ya.
