Absorb urself in its shine. relax and only think about the shine of the coin good luck!

mm....I do this kind of meditation...I learned it from a book, it was fiction, but I find it works wonderful. I guess partly because, it does clear my mind from so many thoughts and I am focusing on something.
I breathe in for a count of 3, hold it for a count of 3, and breathe out for a count of 3.
It clears my mind as I focus on one thing. It helps especially when I am in a difficult situation.

More interesting tips! I'm gonna have to pick one and run with it since I'll end up trying to do use them all at once, lol.

lol heres one more ....i seldomly actualy "meditate" befor i start practising ...its more of a time to get "focased" ...psi is just like anything else you do in life....like if you play a sport your focused on the game ....not thinking of what your next post will b on this sight ...get it....i usaly take a 2 min "focus" time befor i start practising ....and befor i get on the ice to play hockey i take 2 min to get focased and think what im going to do.....manny people think to much when they meditate on if there doing it right or not....there is no "rong" way you just have to find the most effective way for you....that is all peace

Hehehe, I love mine. It is partly because I have this craze to move. So much energy running through me. So mine, I use when I am on the move.

Anyone else with any methods for calming one's mind? Clearing it of thoughts? Come on, need some more!!
This is an issue with me as well; I can't seem to ever completely turn off the stream of thoughts that goes through my head, and recently, I've become aware of the greatly increased need of a technique that would help me out in this area.

And every moment involves me either sending or receiving things that I could do very well without. My "oneness" is me pissed at the fact that my thoughts are being broadcasted, or confused and wondering about the phrases that I pick up.
oh wait, was this a form of meditation, or just a word of general advice? If it's meditation, give some details about what I should do, please please pretty please ate ole buddy.
And if it's not, do you know any techniques that would help me out?

Here's a meditation that has helped me a little bit. Get into a comfortable position, but not to the point where you would fall asleep. Close your eyes and visualize the ocean and the tides. Breathe in and out with the tides.

*nods* I was taught by a guide a good meditation that can be for relaxing or sleeping using a similar idea.
Picture in your mind of a open ocean. Then imagine a floating raft. Think about how it would move about. Then imagine yourself on tht raft. Let the gental bobing waves lull you to sleep.
