I think drawing energy from different sources will help in programming, like using the sun for a hot psiball.

Yeah, that is supposed to help. Something with subconcious programming or something like that. I never tried that . If I plan on drawing from anything, I just use whatever comes to my mind first.

I usually draw from either mother earth or skies...anything that floats in the skies and space. But for me, drawing from skies is a little bit harder than drawing from earth. and not designating a specific target for drawing energy from is risky, like, when one day I tried to draw energy from the sky, a meteor came...it's true. the second time, a monstrous lightning came...it was scary. ><

i just draw from the air. if i do draw at all that is. psi balls dont take much (especially not the size i make them)

moon/sun water fire plants/animals and other people i find its easier to draw psi from someone who is not psychic

My favorite source is the sun, too (because I live in the tropics right now.) But I second to be wary of overload... I used to try drawing from the body of the sun, that would leave an unpleasant buzz that lasted for days, and found since then that sunshine has enough energy to charge up from passively (but it's a little chaotically crackling... it's like I had to "digest" what I'd drawn in first and could only make a proper psiball in the shade, so by my experience it's not innately good for programming. Maybe I just suck at programming on the ball, but...)
I don't always like the quality of "secondary sunshine" from the moon, though, I don't know why... it's a lovely sight, but to draw energy from it makes me feel nauseous and sluggish, and I have some trouble drawing from the earth. The earth, water, and metals are what I push excess energy into if I'm overloaded, more than what I draw from. I feel better around plants. They seem to naturally set me at the equilibrium.
Even though I'm not too fond of the moon, the energy of a clear night full of visible stars and planets is my favorite-- it's like they stain the air. And some kinds of storms-- most give me a physical headache from the air pressure so I never want to do anything, rare but savored are the ones just perfect for drawing energy from. I have never experienced the problem I've heard a psion can have where their work with psychic energy makes them more susceptible to being struck by lightning.

Well, I like to use my own energy, and I usually do when I'm doing something simple, but I've found that my mind imposes some kind of limit on my body, so when I'm trying to form a complex construct or something with nothing more than my own energy, it feels like I'm really exerting myself and it's doing nothing. I just can't get around this mental block, because after ten or fifteen seconds of using my own energy, it just seems like I've drained it all and it becomes impossible for me to visualize any more coming out. So when I'm doing anything more complex than a simple psiball, scanning, pinging, etc., I draw energy from:
1) Trees, plants, etc. (when at home I like to draw from a large tree in my front yard) 2) The earth itself (dark energy surging upward like roots into my body) 3) The sun (golden energy blasting down and engulfing me) 4) The moon (silvery energy gently charging me) 5) Occasionally inanimate objects, like a computer or a lamp (blue-white electricity surging into me) 6) Any available elements (air, water, fire)
So, yeah, that's pretty much how I do energy gathering.

what i do is imagin the air is very thick like a fog. then i make my one (or 2) hand in a cup then i imagin just cutting that ball so it is then a ball (sort of hard to explain).
