Got a quick question... Say you're reading a topic-starting post, or a reply in a thread, and you think the poster is lying... what do you do? Do you call them on it? Ignore it? Note the screenname for future reference? Get mad? Think that YOU might be wrong? Something else?  |

If it's a problem, I call them on it. If they're making outlandish claims, I ask for proof. If I think they're lying, but can't prove it, I remember the name and continue evaluating their posts before I decide whether to put them on my fluff list (i.e. disregard just about anything they say).

If it's outlandishly fluffy then ridicule and mocking is the way to go, if I'm not sure or don't feel like arguing I will repeatedly ask for proof until all means of giving proof have been ruled out and then circle round to the previous method of dealing with liars.

If it's something outrageous and obviously a lie/bluff, I'd call them on it. Now, I'm not advocating confrontation, but this is a place where psions come to get help with training/advice, and be among friends. Not to be lied to and mocked. It's ridiculous and unnecessary (sorry for the spelling). If you've noticed that there's a person who's been lying repeatedly, I'd send JK a message. It couldn't hurt.  But we shouldn't have to deal with liars here. EDIT TO POST: Duly noted, Nightshare (see below post). Sorry about that ^^ |
