I personally am a scientific person and believe that though science cannot explain psionics today it will eventually find an explanation for it.

I'm somewhere in the middle, but I lean somewhat to the spiritual side, but I'm very open to both sides. It's very hard to keep this site from going too spiritual. If you've notice I only post non spiritual articles on the main page and let you all have your spiritual fun on the forum.

Scientific. I have -yet- to witness a 'spiritual' event of some sort myself. That doesn't mean I don't believe at all what people say here, but since it's my personal opinion, the things that happen to others don't really matter.

To me psionics is an art and to some extent a science. I really don't think psionics is a spritual thing. Psionics being spritual would add things like karma and it would cause it to lean more towards being a religion...in my opinion.

spiritual growth isnt a religin. your friend lonewlf Some would disagree, though it seems to be more a matter of perception than truth as to exactly what is religion. I claim none myself, I have seen certain things to be true, Like the divine, and I choose to actively take part. I've never heard any 'god' or spiritual master saying to follow the catholic, buddhist, or christian faith specifically, but I could be wrong. re·li·gion [ ri líjjən ] (plural re·li·gions) noun Definitions: 1. beliefs and worship: people's beliefs and opinions concerning the existence, nature, and worship of a deity or deities, and divine involvement in the universe and human life 2. system: an institutionalized or personal system of beliefs and practices relating to the divine 3. personal beliefs or values: a set of strongly-held beliefs, values, and attitudes that somebody lives by 4. obsession: an object, practice, cause, or activity that somebody is completely devoted to or obsessed by The danger is that you start to make fitness a religion.

Religion and spiritualism seems to have a connection, which is why I have the rule " no religious talk allowed on the forum" to keep the two from coming together.

In my humble opinion
Psionics is a scientific field, but the methods used to attain psychic abilities are spiritual.

The methods aren't spiritual for everyone. Some people chose to see it as a spiritual thing. If the methods were spritual then that means that the main reason for people practicing psionics would be to attain spirtual growth.. that's not the case for me. I'm doing it purely for power's sake. I have a lot of different skills in different areas and psionics is one of those.. I want to make it grow (just like all of my other skills).
Again, I don't think the method is spiritual... I just think that some people choose to see it that way.

Energy is a core spiritual force, for someone to have any ability that requires energy (which has been all of them for me) then that method used to attain it is spiritual. If chi or energy is considered as 'scientific' then spiritual is the same as scientific and the division between the two ceases to exist.
IMO to (perceivably) separate yourself from energy is to separate yourself from spiritual awareness and thus psychic abilities. However once that 'grounding' is attained abilities are useable without conscious spiritual requisite.

I have completely separated myself from the spiritual aspects of psychic training. Just because psychic energy is psychic energy, doesn't mean it's spiritual. It only means that it's something supernatural. And something being supernatural doesn't necessarily imply spirituality.
Something being spiritual doesn't mean that it's scientific. Some people believe in spirit guides (spirituality), but science goes to tell you that it's your conscience instead of an actual external energy (separate from yourself). Practicing psychic abilites doesn't make someone a spiritual person... it doesn't mean that you're on a 'spiritual path' because I'm not. The Greeks believed that the 'gods' controled all things.. the weather, your life... the stupid rock that you tripped over yesterday. Did that make it true?
Spiritual path implies enlightenment... I don't want enlightenment.. I don't want to make myself better and everyone else better... I want power and advancement. Not spiritual growth. So what does that mean? Does that mean that I do not have any psychic abilities? Does that mean that I can't use any psychic abilities (regardless of whether or not I already had them functioning as a young child without practice?)? Does that mean that I cannot be psychic just because I see things as practical rather than spiritual?
*Feel free to answer the questions.. I'm really interested in hearing what you have to say.
Also. How did you come up with the conclusion that psychic abilities are a spiritual thing?
