In any fight, you must asses your opponent, and asses what you want to do to them. If you are stronger, and only wish to restrain them, then you should, of course, hold back, and deal limited damage. Should they be stronger, try to get as many advantages as possible. The gap of gender is only an illusion, and, as liz pointed out, usually an excuse to make the opponent drop their defenses. You would, with the same reasons, fight a smaller, weaker female the same way you fight a smaller, weaker male. The difference is the reasons for the fight, males fight other males to finish the fight to a point the other loses the will to fight you again, while in the most cases, the fight with the female is to restrain. The reason for the fight is what makes it right or wrong.
