Speaking of the 1600's, here's an interesting fact. The concept of Childhood did not really exist back then. You were either too young to fend for yourself (which generally extended until age 6 or 7), or part of the workforce. It wasn't until the enlightenment, the Victorian Era, and the feminist movement when Childhood became a separate concept, and a very delusional one at that, with strange terminology like "innocence" being thrown around like it actually meant something, thus introducing Ageism to the world, the concept that children were a separate race from adults and should be treated separately. In the early 1900's, along came the famous psychologists, Dr. Sigmund Freud, who aimed to debunk this ageism. Nobody listened to him, and we've since discredited him.
This is false. Several studies have demonstrated that this is not necessarily the case, and also pointed to education being a strong factor on whether a kid picks their own candidate or their parents pick one for them. Religion, however, is largely "inherited".

I believe kids-teens these days are much more advanced in mind structure than that of adults, we are the newer generation. However, the adults have more experience, and can take us down, but, it's inevitable that we'd take them down at some point in time, just as they did when they were younger.
