Heres a little game to see how accurate you are.
I have placed my dog tag ( that flat metal thing you wear around your neck) some where around my house. Try RV to look for it and tell me what you see.
I will let you know who got it right.

No, at the moment it is most likely dark, but it isn't on anything soft.
