This is for the people wondering what is Hemi-Sync how it works who invented etc etc
Most of the information I got from the book "Far Journeys" written by Robert Monroe so all credit goes to him
Science has long known that your brain is divided into two halves, or hemispheres. But only in recent years has it been discovered that these two halves are entirely different in the functions they perform. There is still controversy about the theory as to details.
Most of the time we think with only our "left brain." We use our right brain primarily to support the action of our left brain. Otherwise we do our best to ignore it. In function, the nerve signals from these brains halves act in an X crossover. The left brain controls the right side of the body and vice versa. We are primarily a right-handed civilization, dominated by our left brains.
We use the left brain to talk, read, do mathematics, to reason deductively, to remember detail, measure time. Our right brain is the originator of ideas, spatial sense, intuition, music, emotion, and probably much more that we now realize. It is timeless, apparently with a language all its own.
So basically we are a half brained society, everything we consider valuable is operated or controlled by our dominant left brain. Even if it originates in the right brain, such as an idea or music, the left brain takes over and puts it to use.
How did we get this way? Nobody is sure, but one of the better guesses is that the left-brain dominance came about because of a basic need to survive in a physical world. Out entire system-books, schools, colleges and universities, industries, political structures, churches is fundamentally left brained in learning, application, and operation. We have generally regarded right brain thinking with amused tolerance, suspeicion, disgust, irritation, distrust and awe.
So who cares about the right brain? why not stay half-brained? Who needs the right brain? Well the answer is simple we do need it.
Recent studies show we use our right brain throughout our daily lives in many subtle ways. For example, the left brain remembers the name, but the right brain remembers the face.
Current theory centers around the idea that we shift brain hemisphere dominance many times during our daily activities.
How we got smart enough long enough to climb down trees and survive as a species was either dumb luck or a miracle or something else. ;p

About Hemi Sync
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Hemi-Sync (short for hemispheric synchronization) uses patterns of sound to help create simultaneously an identical wave form in both brain hemispheres.
Each ear sends its dominant nerve signal to the opposite brain hemisphere, following the X pattern. When separate sounds pulses are sent to each ear (using headphones to isolate one ear from the other), the halves of the brain mus act in unison to "hear" a third signal, which is the difference between the two signals in each ear.
Its never an actual sound, but it is a electrical signal that only can be created by both brain hemispheres acting and working together.
As a learning tool, it has a great ability to focus and hold attention. In a particular course in a government training school, it increased mental motor skills by 75 percent. In another test, Morse code students improved their ability by as much as 30 percent.
So yea the Monroe institute developed a process called the gateway experience which uses the Hemi-Sync method to induce OOBE which has taken many explorers to the astral plane successfully.
