Jerry, it's different when you get out in the astral. It all depends on the method. Sometimes, you'll appear at a temple (based upon your mind structure, as in personality traits) or some other place you've never seen before, or even your room (if you are using the astral societies awesome 'ohh floaty' method for example)

In personal experience(for the first few seconds ever lol, as well as a few others have said), the astral looks null. Like, when I opened my astral eyes and looked at my white wall, it looked more of a greenish-going to light blue/teal. Some colors will be different from what they are supposed to be.

To answer your first question about are you able to perform Telekinesis on astral plane. Of course people have claimed to have done it but as Monroe says, objects in the astral plane exists on a different vibrational frequency than yourself. Therefore touching and influencing an object physically in the astral plane would be a form of Telekinesis. Because technically all matter on the astral plane is perceived with the mind's eye and influencing another energy on the astral plane would require you to perceive on that particular object's frequency. For instance when I project to the astral plane, I'm not able to see everything in my room that exists as it does in the physical plane. It's because the mind's eye has a range of frequencies that it perceives on. And some obects may not be in your perception range. So performing Telekinesis on a particular object in the astral plane would be pretty advanced in my opinion. If you can kinda understand what I mean. I personally have no idea how to expand astral awareness, that's one of the answers I'm in search of myself. Each object in the astral plane represents energy and each energy has it's own unique vibrational frequency. Now for your second question of how does the astral plane look. For me it's a lot like the physical plane. Except some objects may not appear (as I explained earlier) that were there before I went to bed. Also some other foreign mysterious objects are present usually as well. I haven't been into a spirit temple yet, at least lucidly I haven't. I did once appear in a strange land because I had subconsciously projected and suddenly became lucid where I was. It was strange and didn't last long. I was like inside a big chamber where I can see outside which was an undescribable scene. I don't think it was on earth. Not sure where it was exactly. And for some reason it was hard to retain my lucidity. I struggled to to keep my awareness but it was too hard. Then the next thing you know I was back in my physical body. Normally I can retain lucidity very well on the astral plane but not that time. Well I'm getting kinda lengthy here so I'll explain more if you need to know

Probably very very hard. But anything is possible. Almost. The first thing is, you have to Astral Project before you even try! I've never been there, but I hope I get to Astral Project sometime soon, because people say it's so cool and it feels different, and I wonder what I would see.

Lower, actually. The higher you are, the more the plane is affected by thoughts, which means it's going to be less like the physical. The higher astral is very transient, nothing stays for very long unless a great deal of energy goes into keeping it up (i.e. a public temple or something). Remember, the Etheric's lower than the Astral, so that should give you a referenec point.

Might on the astral, but it wouldn't on the physical unless you were on a very low vibrational level (practically as low as the physical plane).

when you arrive it looks just like the real world..and yah there are temples for many reasons doing alot of things..
