The voice in her head...

My grandmother told me this story a couple of days ago.
When my father was about 8 months old, he was put in his crib, and my grandmother then went into the living room. (across the house.) She sat down, and then 5 minutes later, she heard a voice in her head. "Go check on the baby..." She just ignored it. "Go check on the baby..." To prove it was her own mind playing tricks on her, she went to check on my dad. Look at that, he was choking on mucus in his throat or something. If she hadn't seen him, he would've been dead. Could this little voice have been [you]her guide [/you]or something?

yea I've heard a number of stories like that for the years and I must say, they are pretty fascinating. I mean it doesn't necessarily prove anything because I could probably come up with a few possibilities. They are just cool listening to.

I would suspect that it was maternal instinct.

There are a number of possibilities here, but if she had no other occurances that might point to psionics, then I'd agree with lostdreamer and say it was just maternal instinct. Were there other occurances?

It could be her subconscience helping her in a precogination way.
It could also be her Spirit Guide.

There can be a number of reasons.

I agree. That's not enough. Generally you need several different events like that before I'll say it was a spirit guide.

Well since there isnt alot of details and is distant in the past it is hard to tell, you should ask her for more details and if any other events occured

No. I asked her, and she said that one time it happened. Of coarse, she said it might have, but she forgot. But, you guys are probably right. It might be maternal instinct.
