Site Inauguration party - Saturday the 15th!

All right. It has been 14 long days of work with the site, but the layout is fully done. There are articles you haven't even seen, written by Jedi (most) and me (some); and probably there will be from other people. The layout rules for my standards and is much superior than the MSN groups's, in my opinion. Everything is ready for it.

This Saturday, January the 15th, there will be the official inauguration of the site. The URL will be given at 5:00pm GMT -5, so be around the forum by that time. At that time as well, we are going to have a party in the IRC chat channel, which is already made. It will be revealed along with the site, so get your chat client ready. We are going to practice whatever is up to your heart's content. We are also planning on holding some work with newbies, if there are any, so don't be discouraged if you can't do any of the techniques: there will be something for you.

And I'm sorry, but if you can't come, don't. The only one who can change dates or hours is Jedi, in case she can't attend at that time. If you want, bring your friends. The more, the merrier. But it's not required if you don't have any, as I know I don't have any besides the ones in this forum. So anyways, see ya in the party!

PS: Everyone who has made articles, submit them to mcolotto [at] hotmail [dot] com, as soon as possible, or optionally PM me in this forum. They will all be checked before the given date and time.

Because I have a slight cold and have a history of waking up on the weekends sick as a dog, I may not be able to make it to the chat party. If this happens the chat get together will be on the 16th at the same time as before. There is also a slight chance of something I rather not talk about might happen tonight that could very well put me out of mental shape to practice. In eigher case I will noticify Mat. Tomorrow and he will deliver the sad news. (poor him) But let's hope for the best!

I have not received anything, so the party is still up for now. 5:30 hours remaining until then. Please, everyone, start getting an IRC client. mIRC isn't too bad (www.mirc.com) but if you don't like it, pick any other. I will give a short tutorial on mIRC on how to get on the chat channel along with the general announcement.

The IRC server is irc.acmlm.org / akron.oh.us.irc.acmlm.org (if the first doesn't work, use the second)

The channel is #psiworld

If you don't have any idea of IRC and you want to be able to connect:

1) Download mIRC from the site given.
2) Install and run the program.
3) Click continue.
4) A window should open. You don't have to put your true real name or email address. Pick your nickname and alternate nicknames, and put them there. Ignore the rest, then press the "Ok" button.
5) Type this, without quotes, in the window: "/server irc.acmlm.org", then press enter.
6) If done right, it will start connecting. Wait a little. If it looks like it won't connect, or if mIRC starts retrying, type, without quotes, in the same window: "/server akron.oh.us.irc.acmlm.org", then press enter.
7) Wait until it connects. If it still doesn't, click the first button in the toolbar, then go to File --> Select server. On the new window, click on Options on the left side. Change the default port to 6667, then press the "Ok" button and repeat step 6.
8) After you have connected, a new window should pop up. Press "Ok" on it, then type in the same window as before: "/join #psiworld", without quotes.
9) A new window should pop up. This is the chat room window. Congratulations, you made it!
