I recently came across this phenomena, and it is interesting, though of course I am somewhat skeptical of its veracity.
Even so, I came up with a method of determining when exactly one has created a Psi-Ball, as this seems to be one of the major issues brought up by budding psions.
All manifestations of energy produce magnetic fields. If psi-balls are highly concentrated forms of energy, they should produce a notable magnetic field. The easiest way to test this would be with a compass. They are extremely sensitive to magnetic fields, even if they are very weak.
To test, simply place the compass near the intended location of the forming psi-ball (I assume your hands). Once you believe you have created the psi-ball, the compass hand should point towards it.
Perhaps this could help someone? It would be nice if an experienced person could test this theory.

From personal experience; I don't think this would work. If a normal psiball could move a compass like this then a dense one would be able to crash your comp.
Psi balls are a concentrated form of energy. The problem is, nobody knows what kind of energy that is.

That is a good point. I was assuming in a manifested form, it would take the form of electricity, or the movement of electrons, which of course generates the aforementioned field.
However, if the generated "substance" is simply light and heat, then the test would not be possible. This is a problem, though, due to the massive amount of energy that goes into transforming mass into light. Even our sun, which is infinitely more powerful than each of us, is only able to transform a miniscule amount of matter directly into energy.
As you say, there is the concept that this is an energy that cannot be grasped scientifically. I am very logical, so of course I find this hard to swallow, so forgive me if I seem like a skeptic.
One question I have: While moving around this site, I found several references to "elements". How would one go about determining one's element? The only explanation I found was to "perform an elemental test", but this of course doesnt make much sense to me. Any helpful links would be appreciated.

I don't think I heard of any talks of this kind in the forum...

thepsiworld.proboards37.com/index.cgi?board=ener&action=display&thread=1175972760Usage of the word "cryo" in the second post, and it continues along. From what I have seen around here, they essentially are latin words to represent a specific psionic concept; Cryo, Hydro, Pyro, etc. The idea seems a little odd to me. If someone could explain its origins to me, I would appreciate it. It seems like the idea may better be defined as an "aptitude" or an "affinity", rather than an "element". I have read posters stating that they are such and such element, though what it seems they are actually trying to say is that they feel a certain relation to a particular mode of manipulation.

I believe it should not be called cryo or pyro but thermokinesis, the movement of heat, since if you take the heat away from anywere, it gets cold.
Well.. i know nothing...

They are talking about certain kinds of telekenesis, like pyrokenesis, which is warming things up or starting a fire, and cryokenesis, which would be cooling something down. I can't spell kenesis

i know, but cooling a system down or warming it up is only the flow of heat, thus thermo (heat) kinesis, the ability to move heat into or away from a system. But that's just my opinion

When you are making a psiball, most of the time there is no random element unless there was a mistake of some sort. If you want to make a psiball with proberties of water then think of water when making the psiball, that way it gets imprinted on the ball. This is just basic programing, and you can find it in this article: www.freewebs.com/jedikaren/constructs.htmHopefully this answers your question ;D

Well, I think science will eventually incorperate some concept of psi energy into its worldview. Actually, only certain types of electromagnetic energy will affect a compass so it's no suprise that a psi ball won't affect it unless directed to do so. Sometimes cloud chambers will respond to psi balls but they're pretty expensive and hard to set up.

I don't think that science can explain this psi energy .... Well maybe Im wrong To explain it is a bit far from our spectrum now. I believe such an energy should be detectable or quantifiable by some instrument, even if that instrument isn't in our grasp yet. Psi isn't even an open topic on our society. You can't expect breakthroughs on something that doesn't exist to the normal person.

Well, Psi seems to be the basic form of energy or neer basic form.
Since it can be manifestied, changing into electricity or an electric form is very possible. I plan to try the compass thing right now...once I find a compass.
I want to test it on me, and on different people and see the results. As I also think Logically but then also Creativley.
