i was thinking, is it possible to make something that runs on psi?
or like a construct that creates electricity to power a motor

I don't think so.

I think it might be possible, that it wouldn't be all that different from a psiwheel, but it would take much larger amounts of energy. Like, enough to turn a generator. And I doubt you could get a construct to do that, but I'm still new and don't yet know the limits.

*mutters* "Yeah, now we just need you psi-wheelers to actually prove you can do it, so we can get started on the actual plans for this hypothetical machine..."

uhmm call me arrogant but whats the point, people are always looking for alteranate energy scources when the ones there are just fine, why not use solar power electricity and other already exsisting forms of energy -_-

I don't see a way to harness psi and turning psi wheels won't generate anywhere enough energy to be useful. Plus it's hard enough to get the wheel to move, but to be constant and fast for long period of times is well...impossible at this time. It's like expecting stationary bikers to produce enough energy for a house.

Glad that was cleared up!
Anyway, you there, Stealth! I reply to your post with the following statements: Our current fuel of choice is fossil fuels. We only have so much oil and coal, so they're gonna run out someday (someday soon, if you wanna listen to the pessimists, but even the optimists say it'll be in my lifetime). We have solar energy, which is expensive and doesn't produce as much energy as we'd like. Wind power generates, like, nothing, and it's ugly. Nuclear fission, not only does it have the same problem as fossil fuels in that we have a limited supply, but it's also very dangerous. We have geothermal energy, which is extremely expensive, and last but not least is hydroelectric, which is inconvenient for anyone not near a major water source.
So yeah, basically, the future is pretty bleak for electricity.
Oh well. Onward to researching a new type of energy that isn't fusion...

im not sure about this but didnt einstein say matter is energy and energy is matter. and i believe if we truly want to find an efficient ennergy scource we need to look no farther than our selfs. think about it ourbody extracts soo much energy from cheese and crackers. so why can we extract more energy from things like the sun and well food what if we could power our cars on bread, but the real problem is the wheel, it uses too much energy, what we need is a bipodial car, that ladies and gentlemen is the way of the future. and why dont we learn more about graity and how to diffuse it you know how much energy is stored in a black hole?! with a decent sized black hole there is no doubt in my mind that you could power earth for 1,000 years in its current populatin that is so probly more like 400 yrs... but thats still a ton.

Scientists have looked into black holes as a possible energy source. The only thing is that we can't get near them. The gravity from black holes would be extremely sufficient, but our technology is no where near the point of harnessing that power. Also, Quasars are even more efficient than black holes, and they are even harder to reach than black holes. I will have to agree with marshmellow. The future for electiricty does not look too good.

ha ha, the bread powered cars are funny. wouldn't we have to worry about them getting moldy?

We get energy from bread and cheese and crackers and the like only because we are organic beings, consuming organic (living/dead) products. And the technology needed for harnessing the energy of black holes is beyond our reach (not just now; we won't be able to make what is necessary), no matter how optimistic you wanna be.
