Hello, everyone.
Im sure you've heard this term often. It has been used since a long time, but now it's just out of control. It's about the term "natural".
Now, what does this term means? It means that someone can use a certain ability without exactly following a certain method because they already have a sort of control over it. Anyone who has control over an ability call themselves a natural. Let's face it, it sounds cooler to say, "Oh, Im a natural telepath because have control over it." rather than saying, "I had to practice years to control and be decent at telepathy". But is it really the correct usage of the word?
The wrong usage of this word is getting out of control. Why? Because the real meaning behind the term "natural" is someone who has been using an ability since he is awared of (sometimes without even knowing that it is not normal by society's standards) and most of the times it is something that is used subconsciously (without the knowledge of one self).
I encourage everyone to not use these terms in any form. They are useless and meaningless labels that creates resentment between people in the community. Being "natural" doesnt makes you exactly better at that ability you are natural at. Having the necessary equipment (figuratively speaking) to use an ability right off the bat doesnt means you dont need to practice. Practice, hard work and dedication are the keys to success.

But Natural here Is used as an innate ability. I haven't seen any problems with that here, at least.

That is right, partially. And half-assing terms is what deteriorates the bond between people and communities in this specific case. It is why I encourage to not even use such terms as natural, partial, non, etc.

Well I am a natural at nothing but existing. I suck at psi. but i still try. I'm trying to do AeroKinesis on a Fan. I think i can do it, but i need to blow some smoke to see if it's just a pattern in the air or if it's me. I'll make a post on it later. But first for proof, which i doubt.. I pretty much can't do anything other than move the psi-wheel

I believe that natural simply means something that you have done your whole life. Thus it becomes so easy that you do not even need to try to use it to actualy use it.
Basicly, if you did it subconsiously for a long time, then learned about it and tried to use it, you are natural at it.

-Yeah, I don't see what's wrong with saying that I'm a natural at something, like for example, I'm natural at math, I don't have to study to get a 100 in tests, and with one explanation I get nearly all the subjects. So It's not wrong to say I'm a natural at math, I think it's the same with psi.

I agree with snowind. Also the math thing is true for me too.

Awww. Lucky people... I reckon natural is just something that you are born with, like say if you're a natural at ionno, say, playing chess, it's just like you're advantaged in the way that you know how everything works, and you get the grasp of things easily.
