I recently stumbled upon a video of an autistic woman who learned how to type in English. The things that she has to say about her existance, and how she interacts with the world seem to me like she has a Psionic connection with her surroundings. I would like very much for some others to view this video, and see if they gather what i did from it. Here's the link: youtube.com/watch?v=JnylM1hI2jc

It's not psionics. They perceive the world in a different way to how most people do, this doesn't mean that they are in touch with some kind of energy, or whatever you're trying to say. If you opened your mind you would see that the way you interact with things can be very different to the way other people do without involving psionics at all.

daevl is right being autistic means that they are more in tune with something or other. If people actually pay attention to what she is doing you might see serious problems mental. The autism causes her to need constant interaction. Focusing on one task is very hard. She says that people say she is inhuman because she cannot communicate. This is part to our views of things as human, if it can't grow and develop like a child then it is not human. If it doesn't interact with the world in a normal rational way then it is either defected or not human. (Please keep in mind these are not my views). When looking at autistic people in general and finding one that is smart is more then hard. Though even if you count autistic savants, outside of their special subjects they are unable to function in the world. In a sense, autism is a severe handicap, almost as great as being a paraplegic. When you figure that into many other unknown factors about autism you end up looking at them as if they are separate from humans. Being a psion, it can be very understandable why you see this woman as a practicer or psi.

Yes, i agree. Autism is kinda like a gift, i see it. Because, they can be alot better in math, english, or other subjects usually. If you've seen the movie Rainman, the guy there, Raymen's brother, was autistic, and could do 1365X147698 in his head. That's really kinda what autism is. I think so, that is.

He also struggled with everyday life, couldn't interact with people properly and lived in a world of never ending lonelyness. I'd rather be a moron and have friends.

Maybe. Who knows ? Who can which life is better ? We all percieve the world differently, it just depends upon many environmental factors and how we are in life. Could you not say Psionics is a struggle ? Are you lonely if you do not have friends not invovled with what you are interested in it, offline ? I find it really hard sometimes, dealing with others, because of what I like, what I do, who I am, because of it, sometimes it is lonely, because I see the world very differently. I'm not autistic, but my sister has aspergers, a "branch" of autism sorta. Even she sees the world differently.

Each one is happy in his / her own way. One cannot say what is better for another, but only advise and give oppinion, and if care he/she does about that one, support him/her in his/her decisions and help him/her when they're down.

Yes, but every gift has a downside. Though they do have these talents, they lack in social skills, which I consider important. They also are powered more in the mind, but there physical body lacks. You gain a bit in the mind, loose a bit in the body. You power up one part of the brain, you lower another. ~Jano

Actually autistic people have the same bodies as anyone else, muscular and otherwise. People with autism who live their lives in a routine including excercise can be very powerful because of the need they feel to excecise every day.
There really aren't any physical downsides with autism, only mental.
