Use of psi in finding materials(or staff )

Well i had a thought :
every material has its own quantity of psi or it's own "kind" of psi ,so a psion trained in feeling psi could perhaps try to feel the psi around a gold coin and then just try to locate psi similar to the coin's psi bellow the ground .........and TA DA he found gold ( this was just a silly example but i think that you know what i mean ) Is this thing possible

Sounds very possible.It would be easier like JK said to use Remote Viewing but this sound just about as easy.
