any ideas? I tried imagining a dark energy circle around the lighter, but that just dimmed it a little. And by the way, would a candle be easier, considering it wouldn't be constantly fueled like a lighter would be? Or maybe a match...

I'm not well-experienced in this but lemme give it a try
advice: Imagine the air around the flame getting sucked away, either just *blink*gone, or move it into the surrounding bit. Like a reverse black hole, pushing everything out.
Try to squash the flame with your mind. Slowly. Get it to grow smaller and smaller, until it goes out.
Haven't tried this method myself, but I prolly will soon.
EDIT: Hell, I'm trying tonight.

i think (if none of this works) that you can open up one of your chakras and channel its energy to putting out the flame.

try slowing the fire molecules the way you would attempt controlling other things.
its the same with creating heat (invision the air molecules moving fast and faster and brighter)
thats how i heat and cool. and it works for me.
ps.. i've never tried putting out a fire but i have tried cooling things with this so if it doesnt work for fire than tell me.

First of all, start with something that's easy to put out. candles and anything else with a constant supply of "fuel" is hard. Matches and other things on which the "fuel" delivery depends on the size and heat of the flame are easy.
Focus on the flame, try to create an environment in which only you and the flame exist (not literally, but you know what I mean), and then just focus on putting it out in any way that seems logical to you... I personally tell the flame to go out (with my mind, of course), and it works for me
