I'll let you in on a little secret... for most purposes, they're exactly the same. They're all TK, the difference is in what you're affecting. Umbrakinesis is really a load of bull since darkness is not energy at all, but absence of energy. Biokinesis is practically impossible for most purposes. You might be able to get it to work, but it'd take so long compared to the other abilities that it's barely worth it until you get some practical experience. Manipulating temperature is a little easier than electrical currents for most people (I can't really see why, the body generates an electrical field of its own--shouldn't EK be easier?), so I'd suggest learning cryokinesis first, followed by EK.

The dancing flame method. You take a lit candle and influence the flame.

you should really start on natural TK, do the psi-wheel. after that you can move on to whatever.

Did you master the psi-ball first? That's always the first thing to do with psi.
