Hi everyone my names Tim and I'm from Australia. And I'm new to the site. From other forums etc. on the web I have come to the conclusion that I am a natural Empath. I have absolutely no control over it whatsoever and it annoys the crap out of me cause It distracts me something chronic. And I believe it has something to do with why I can't focus on anything and at times I can just go into emotional overload for no reason. So I began looking into psionics in order to construct some sort of barrier against these emotions being thrown at me. No luck as of yet but what started as me just looking into shields and stuff has gotten me interested in all the other things you can do with psionics. I've always been interested in Astral Projection and things like this although with them I haven't had much luck either mainly because I couldn't focus long enough to do anything. Hoping to find some answers to my many questions on this site.

Welcome to the site. There are many empaths on this site. I am one of them. You should learn about grounding. I recommend learning your personal limit of social actives that you can handle and what sort of things you can't. If you get into a situation that you know will lead to an overload, note this and be prepared for the signs of the overload coming. If you can't leave, don't panic. If you can't shield, ground, and center yourself. When you get out of that situation, ground, sleep, mediate, and walk outside alone. I'll have to check those articles out. Grounding and Centring... have to read up on that.

we don't have an article on centering, though the definition is in the glossary. Basically centering means to calm down. Take a deep breath and turn inward. Focus yourself on only you. I always go for my stomach and then into the essence of me, my spirit and soul. Sure this sounds spiritual and googy, but it will help you not think about the emotions around and will deflect some of the emotions coming at you. Part of an overload is being aware of everyone else. If you stop thinking of everyone else, the overload will lessen.
