Hello,
You might not have seen me around much basically because of me moving and my current living situation. So I apologize that I'm not a fully active member but that will hopefully change soon. Also apologize in advance in this was posted in the wrong forum.
Okay well here's my situation....
I've been reading, watching videos, and listening to audios about such subjects as inner peace, enlightenment, expanding ones perception on consciousness, harnessing ones inner energy(psi, chi), and opening the 3rd eye but although I believe that I'm understanding the principles and concepts, it seems I can't really control my thought of focus or properly meditate.
I believe this might just be from me taking in too much knowledge from so many various sources that subconsciously my mind is conflicting between the various methods and causing me to doubt myself during such practices since some sources contradict other sources. Other causes I think would just be my current living situation as I just moved out my house because I sold it and I plan to move to a different state but in the meantime i'm living between two different residences with two different friends. Which puts me in a position where I'm not really on my own, and i have very little privacy if any.
What I would like to know is, with everything mentioned above taken into consideration..what would be the best method in practicing meditation and achieving a higher state of consciousness that allows me to have more control over the outcome of my present and future?
There's so many meditation techniques but most which state that unless done how they specify then it's incorrect. I'd like to think that proper meditation shouldn't need to depend on how you sit, position your hands and legs, or about whats going on in the environment around you. Although maybe I'm completely wrong and there really is no other proper way then to sit in a certain position that allows your inner energy to flow better.
I really don't have an area in my living situation where I can be alone, sit Indian style on the floor, and chant mantras. However if I'm able to learn a proper method that allows me to enter a state of meditation no matter where I'm at, or how I'm sitting then that would be the best alternative for me.
Another problem I've been having lately is the feeling of pure frustration although I'm trying to be calm and not actually in a frustrating situation. It's basically at the point where I can feel it in my chest and it looks like its affecting my breathing. I honestly have no idea where the frustration is coming from. I try to wake up and go to bed while in a good mood, I don't even focus my attention on negative things around me. I'm trying my hardest to just keep a positive mind. I've tried just relaxing, watching something funny on tv, and breathing but I don't think i can fully remove this built up frustration without meditation and clearing my mind so i can move forward.
An example is, I can be just watching TV with my mind completely blank but all of a sudden I feel the frustration all over my body with the symptoms mentioned above and I really have no clue why...
I understand the post became quite long and my apologies for that but I just wanted to detail my thoughts, feelings, and concerns with enough information to assist you in assisting me.
To summarize though:
1. What is a good meditation technique that can be done anytime, anyplace, without verbal mantras? I'm not talking about just sitting there relaxed, but to be actually meditating with a clear but aware state of mind.
2. While meditating how should I go about releasing the built up tension and frustration that seems to just hit me at any moment? Or what should I be doing besides meditating to achieve a more peaceful overall feeling.
Note: Would be great if the meditation techniques suggested also assisted in opening the 3rd eye and harnessing my inner energy.
Thank you in advance and I again I apologize for making this post so long.
