I don't remember where I've read it the they said that the five elements was Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Metal. But I've also read the Energy an element At the risk of getting smitten by Karen for talking about magic, that's a corrupted version of Eastern metaphysical theory (It's normally Air, Earth, Fire, Water, and Void or Fire, Water, Wood, Metal, and Earth). Western has Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Ether. I use Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Light, and Darkness when I use magic (splitting Ether into creative and destructive aspects, kinda like Yin and Yang, I find it to be more efficient =P).- By Japanese it vould be: Chi (earth), sui (water), fu (air), ka (fire) and Ku (void, nothingness, emptyness). But, it should be known that KU by Japanese is everything and nothing at the same time. So, I was wondering if someone (Darin maybe) could give good example for it?

I believe it is more of a belief. See, in the western civilization when you die people think that you will go to a place full of joy and blah blah. In the eastern civilization they believe in the emptiness (which is everything). It's like they find in the emptiness everything. I think meditation would help you understand. Try to clear your mind from everything and you will see what they mean. Bare in mind that this is part my opinion and part fact since I read something about this in a book.

I thought it kind of reflected the 4 states of matter. Solid (Earth) Liquid (Water) Gas (Air) Plasma (Fire). Anything made of mater can fall into one of the categories...

Someone else that agrees with me on this subject. I've also heard people say that electricity is matter and some say that its energy. I haven't looked into the subject at all, and I don't know.

All matter is energy. As I've said, anyone can pretty much use any elemental system they want, as long as it works for them. I use Light and Darkness to symbolize the creative and destructive aspects of the universe, as well as some other attributes. Iluveire mentioned a part of my criteria for determining the dominant element of a given object, though the state of matter isn't the only one. Again, though, this is a psi site. We shouldn't be discussing magic. And Nuuka, good luck backing up that claim, considering that no one's even proven the existence of psi. If it's EITHER a particle or a wave, it should be detectable by certain instruments. ^_^

those elements were chosen at the start of civilization(that was the word right) they are the FOUR BASIC ELEMENTS and dont need to be changed all those other element whithout psi and electricity but all the sub elements are crated by the FOUR BASIC ELEMENTS
