Hey, is it possible to erase some memory? I just spoiled a game for myself, and I want to forget it. Is this possible? edit: sorry if this is in the wrong spot. or if it's been posted before. also sorry if it's fake.

It is real, but not exactly erasing, more blocking off sections of your mind. I will let you know if I can remember how to do it. I managed to block that from myself when I blocked most of my past out.

Well, erasing certain memories is hard seeing as you get trillions of memories. The best I can do is get you amesia, but then you will forget everything.

hmmm, madey trying to erase your memories by yourself would cause you to remember it even better. so you should have some do it to you. yeah its possible. but from what i understand, the memories could be brought up again

GIvenmy resear h into the matter (I would say the best memory erasing abilities lie in the hands of the entities responcible for the vabduction phenomena:) I would say that you can never permanentlydestroy a memory once it's bocome long term. (Although there is current medical research into a drug that MIGHT be able to, through repetitive application.) You could seal those concepts off in your mind, blocking them however it is you deam nessesary (I know nothing about the technical aspects of the how), or better yet, cover them with more believable screen memories.
Although if I where you, I would NEVER do anything along those lines. A - The truth is precious, regardless of how insignificant that particular truth may seem. Your innability to remmeber what happened won't make the event go away. It will merely make you, a potential witness, incapable of recounting the truth when nessesary, which can lead to major consquences. And consequences aside, like I said: The event doesn't go away.Better learn from the event them pretend it never happened. One of the reasons psot traumatic stress sndrome is so problematic is jsut that: People cover up memories valuable to who they currently are and go into denial, instead of accepting what they know to be true.
