This question was brought up by me on this topic, and specifically this page. What is scanning to this site? It is obviously not what I call scanning. Who came up with definition? Here is scanning as I see it: The use of psi to detect psi. What is scanning to you? Do you all think of it like the site, or like me, or different just to you. |

It's basicly yours for me, but, i see it as, seeing their shields, and what they do, and also could be their thoughts. Even though i'm new at it, that's what I consider scanning to be.

The version I call scanning is scanning for personalities, but I am also aware of scanning for a person or thing. www.freewebs.com/jedikaren/scanning.htmBtw scanning does NOT mean scanning for energy levels. There is an article in progress explaining why. |

This seems to be one of those things you have to figure out for yourself. What you're doing sounds like scanning, but that doesn't really mean anything. I don't think there won't be any confusion when asking the question "What is scanning?" I didn't understand this. Were you saying "I thought there wouldn't be any confusion when asking the question What Is Scanning." or were you saying "I thought there would be some confusion when asking the question What is Scanning. |

Scanning seems to be a very confusing technique, as in there are many techniques and beliefs as to what scanning is.

Well, there only seems to be two.
What I consider scanning the consider energy sensing (right?) and what they call scanning I just call a mixture of telepathy, empathy, and remote viewing.
Then there are people that mix up scanning with remote viewing, but they don't count because they are just mixing up their terms.
