Hi everybody, Now I know that I'm a so called "natural empath" (Hope that's the right name), I was just wondering if there are other around my place, with an ability (everykind of ability not just empathy). So I checked some people in my school, who I allways feelt like they're different in an special way.... And there is this guy in my informatic Class (Computer Class), a real computer freek, he knows a lot about that stuff... I've never really talked to him just sometimes when I was intressted in a PC game, I just went to him and we discussed... Anyway, what I want to say, I felt like his different from others so I observed him. And Yesterday, the PC's had a problem and our teacher was allmost paniking... So the guy just went to him and told him what's wrong, and the teacher could solve the prob. I asked him how he could knew that and he answered me: I just guessed what it could be... After that I went to talked to him and told him about me... So we came to a long discusion about things and it seems like he allmost could cominicade with PC's (Sorry sounds a bit TV "Heroes" like), but he really is a genious about PC... So I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced something like this and I'm not sure, but is it called technopathy?
Greeting Raven

No, it's not a term, but many people can do well with technology because they listen to their gut instinct, which, in my opinion, is directly connected to psi. So to me it sounds like your friend has a subconscious connection to psi and is using it.

Oh, so the name "Technopathy" is just an invention to give an ability like I told, a form... Then the guy has a related form of empathy... But it is a bit different, he told me stuffs I can't connect with empathy...

The name 'technopathy' as much as I never heard is obviously a fluff term. someone made up a name or stole it from the movie 'Sky High' and added a why.It is not a term. something close to fixing technology with psi is electrokinesis.

technopathy is not from skyhigh. other superheroes had this ability long before skyhigh (cant remember rigth now, wikipedia it)
what exactly IS FLUFF? from what i have observed, fluff is when you talk of an ability as if it is an ability in itself, even though it is just version of another ability. but using fluff term make it easyer to say what you did. so: "geokinesis", is easyer than saying "TK on dirt"
he can call it technopathy if he likes (if heard people call it technokinesis), but just keep in mind that its just a version of an already existing ability.
most, if not, all psychic abilities have superpower counterpart, the only difference is that, the super powers are unrelated to each other (unlike how, hydrokinesis is related to pyrokinesis cause they are both PK) and the super power is almost always way stronger than the psychic ability they mimic
and before you lable something as fluff, find an ability that it takes from that already has a name. but, who is incharge of naming them in the first place, isnt it us that are actually able to do the things in the first place and know what its like?
(haha, like the use of the alarm there brandon)

Lol. Technopathy. No.. It could be he's really good with computers and from that experience he can usually guess with fairly high accuracy on what could/usually is the problem. His mind may have helped him a bit more but I doubt he goes on pure psionics.

It's no so much we're calling the ability fluff, but when you give something else a different name, you give it a different feel, like techopathy is something that's really all powerful and thus brings in thoughts that are fluff about the ability itself. Being able to feel and use psi doesn't make you god, nor gives you the right to have an inflated ego. Fluff terms are terms that inflates that ego and gives the person the wrong idea about psi.

Or how about he's doing the micro-pk?I think that's the term, to influence the numbers of chance. That includes computers.I use this alot a quick fix for a computer is to imagine positive numbers behind the screen.

I had a chat with the guy again and I asked how he feels or what he sees, when he is doing somthing with PCs or other technological things... He sayed that he just knows how it works due to his fascination with the electronical conections and such stuff... (Sorry I'm not good in explaining how PCs work)... So he just feels the problem... I suppose it's a kind of empathy, just with technology...
