I assume you mean something like holding a ball in front of you to block things out? I suppose you could, but it wouldn't be very useful, since shielding is mostly done to prevent overloads/attacks... a shield that only partly covers you wouldn't be very useful

no, I can't heal, but I'm trying to learn umm... cool things.... well, no cool things really, I just do whatever I think I need to in order to make my intent clear and that seems to work for me...

that's one way to practice... I never really practiced programming in particular, it just came with shielding and stuff... You could try making a construct in the shape of a sword, program it to feel solid and have the properties of a real sword (you can stick it into things and stuff) and program it to stay until you tell it to disappear, then see if you can stick it into a wall (or someone's leg, like I did ) or you can see if people can feel your sword... A friend of mine felt it going through his head

then you should do that I'm very much a visual person, but I have found out that when programming, I'm also more of a conceptual type...

You can be too, Once i tried making a hot one i thought of the stove saw the fire ball and said become hot and nothing. Hey i can make psi balls hold form, follow me, Shield. But i cant make hot or cold ones. Thats ironic aint it?

That's the only programming that I have to be visual for For everything I need to tell it what to do, and for making hot and cold ones I just imagine fire and ice... Works for me ^^

Pertaining to the original question: I started using tactile/instinctive methods, but I now use those three and others, such as "just do it" and those instinctive methods that aren't so easy to explain.

exactly what it says, you just do it, much like you move your arm...
That's what I usually do for everything I don't have any techs for, and it works for me
