actually the way of shelling differs from person to peron. Some of the more popular ways include visualizing that what you made is turning to stone, metal, whatever and keeping that form while trying to actually feel it harden. Another is to keep adding energy to it until you think it's enough and ten program it to hold together. The lists go's on and on, but the best way to find out what works for you is to try each method and stick with the one you like.

I just make my construct and tell it to stay until i dismiss it. I kind of see time passing like the sun setting and rising over and over while the construct stays the same. sometimes I use a clock with hands that just spin around and around. this works for me but you will have to find what works for you.

For shelling, I and many of my other psion friends find that the method differs with how you visualize energy. For example, I almost always visualize psi as sort of a silvery mist. Psi feels cold to me and I shiver every time I gather energy or channel it through me. So, when I form a construct and try to shell it, I visualize it sort of freezing into a solid piece of ice. However, my friend Austin visualizes psi as sort of a dark, evil lightning sort of energy, and when he shells it, he visualizes it just solidifying but still sort of sparking, I guess. Just use what feels like it fits with how you visualize your energy...
