yay! I can shield and it works! It can save my life..err sorta, but yay!
Ok I just came back from English class. The teacher was pretty sick, looked, sounded, and acted pretty sick. Then it hit me. My head hurt, my nose ran, my throat was sore, and it felt like I really didn't wake up. I knew this to be my lovely natural empathy (why you all want this is far beyond me). So I tried to make a shield. I didn't gather very much psi. I could hardly feel it, but I knew it was there. I asked it to keep the emotions and feelings out and then, at the same time, I grounded myself. I instantly felt much better with a lot more energy. The only problem was I had a hard time keeping the shield up. It would be there for a few minutes and then I would distracted (mostly being impatient to get away from her) and the sick feeling would came back. Once I got out of the classroom I felt 100% better and comfirmed my belief it was empathy all along.

I have it bad too, I went into this one place where practically everyone was depressed! I hated it.

I would love to have empathy, mainly because if I did, I would take some of the negative emotinos away from people who are overloaded, just to help them out, because I'm nice like that

Ouch, I know what you mean. On my.... 11th? 12th? birthday, I think it was. I went to Dave and Busters (for those of you who don't know, it's basically a gigantic arcade with a lot of things to do.) This was before I knew much about empathy or shielding. Before then I was always fine with crowds... But for some reason that day, about an hour in as we were in the arcade... There were so many people, I developed an insane headache and felt pretty much dead, moving was almost painful, and light was excruciating. Well, we went home and less than an hour later, after some rest, I was fine. Never, ever want a headache like that again though.
Unfortunately, limptaco... Empathy alone doesn't work quite like that, the world might be a better place if it could though.
