Yes this is possible, you just need to have the shield draw from a good energy source. If you do not have the shield draining from a source, it will use all of its energy up amplifing and reflecting an attack.

Do you want technical, step-by-step instructions? Otherwise, search around a bit and look for some basic shielding and programming techniques, then use them together to create what you want.
Bear in mind that if you want to magnify this energy, you need to find a way to do so-- either by adding in your own energy source, like Vornakos said, or by finding some method to magnify it without requiring additional energy, which IS possible, but takes a little more skill and focus. With an additional energy source, you basically have a 'plug-and-go' solution which doesn't require much in the way of finesse, but requires more brute power.
