Rather old shield of mine that you might find interesting.
First create a standard bubble shield. Next, view it becoming thick and sticky, like tar. Once you have done that, program it to slow anything that touches it, and then crush inward on the presence that tries to get in.
This should not use much energy per attempted attack, and it slows and destroys them rather well until you meet people strong enough to get past them. Good second or third shield to create.
I found this to be quite effective placed directly behind a mirror shield that was hidden inside a cloaking shield. If you can be located, attacks will normaly bounce back. Then the mirror when cracked, will still be held in place by the Compression Field, as it is on the outside of a tar-like substance. Any attacks that make it pass the mirror will then be either slowed or destroyed.

Good idea. I have yet to actually use it in combat, but from how I've tested it it works well.
