Hey guys, I'd like to show you all my site and see how everyone here likes it. It gets a few (average about 20 or so) visitors a day but I never get any feedback, so you guys could help me with that!

Do you think I should add a psi page of some sort or not?

This website has a very "chan" feeling to it. Did you code this yourself? If so, I suggest you look into a different design, as frames are frowned upon in the web design community.

It looks like it could become a website like the "chans". I don't think adding a psi page would do much though

4chan, etc. like groups of people I hate them personally. It's core thing is for posting pictures but hackers use it a lot. They're a hacker hang out pretty much.

Well I assure you I had no intention of my site become anything like the chans (although Megachan is alright ), and yeah, I coded it all myself, which is why I have the sidebar because I'm too rubbish at HTML and other languages to make anything else

If anyone would be so kind as to help me work out a new design, it would be much appreciated

It is actually hardly used by hackers. Only /i/, which is a group of 13 year old spammers. It is mainly for bored people who post random pictures and talking anonymously. Real hackers actually hang out with other programmers and hackers. Not 13 year old crap. : P

7chan is slow to jump on the bandwagon, 4chan and some others have leapt into the "web 2.0" era and have done away with side bars, and Megachan never one in the first place. But you're right, sidebars are kinda boring, would anyone help me work out a new design? I'm no good with flash or java, I can do some C++ but I doubt that would help

I'd be willing to work on a design, and a bit of programming (I can do HTML, CSS, Some java, and I can do basics in PHP eg: primative log in system). My strong point is design though.

Maybe we could talk on MSN some time? Or even chat by PM because with time-zone differences (Aus) MSN gets to be a pain in the butt.

I would be willing to help out. I am certified in HTML and Javascript, and I know PHP, MySQL, CSS, and Java.

However, I am extremely busy. I would be willing to help out a tad here and there though

Oh I forgot to add. I've got Dreamweaver 7. So if you like we can let it do all the coding for us. xD

EDIT: Okay I got really bored and decided to do a scetch of a possible layout (not this is not design it's just content placement, because if it were design I would have sketched it a little better).



Now an explanation:

As you may be able to tell, if you can read my atrocious handwriting I have the 3 categories that are on you side bar are up the top. When your guests click on each of these they get the links that fall under that category.

The big chunk that says content... well that's pretty self explanatory.

The side bit that says new is all your news (in a short version) and when the users click the title it will take them to the news page, and I'm pretty sure (Appolo you may be able to help me with this) we can make it fetch the news from the news page to save you having to modify the template each time you want to add news.

The other stuff side bit is for whatever you think of that we can chuck in there.

And the banner I'll design for you. That and the rest of the layout.

That is if you want some help still.

I don't have many examples of my website design.. well none at all but you might have seen the different sig images I've made for people.

I have a few ideas but I'll wait 'til we can chat for that.


EDIT NO. 2:

Forgot to add. The little graphic at the bottom of the content box can either be static (which will make the content go into a scroll bar, which I personally don't like) or it will expand with the text, and again I'm not sure how to do this but that can be fixed pretty quick with a tutorial or Apollo's help.

Lol, same here, when Apollo said that it was like the Chans, I thought it was like some sort of website clan with exclusive access only to Chinese people who had 'Chan' as their surname... lol. xD
