I use a "specially designed" weighted clothing for myself, but a friend asked me what weighted vest they should use.
Now, in your opinon if you guys have used a Weighted Vest, which should he use. The X Vest or the V Vest, or any other vest youd reccomend.
He, like me, is mainly into Martial Arts.
Thank You.

I'm not quite sure. I would use weighted clothing, but I don't have the money to buy it. I do however, have many designs, for very loose fitting, and very airy clothing I can use when in combat.

I like to use weighted ankle and wrist straps, but ive never used weighted clothing. Mercury works quite well too, but its messy, be sure to have some anti-leak plastic bags

A weighted vest doesn't really add much to a martial arts training regimen. Weighted wristbands and greaves slow your running, kicking, and punching speed and force you to develop stamina. A vest just kinda sits there and weights on you. You might develop slightly more stamina that way, but not enough to justfy the cost of the vest. I'd just go for the armbands and greaves and increase the weight once you're strong enough not to injure yourself.

Oh, I have weighted wristbands, and the ankle bands (I don't know what the proper term is).

A waited vest would work because it slows down your whole upper body. But wrist bands and ankle guards would work best ;D

Daevl, you wont get back problems from these vests. I know people who use these and there specialy designed.
Darin, he already wears Ankle/Wrists weights. He wants to add to those, he wears them 24/7 exept not in the shower.

The point is that a weighted vest won't add to it. It doesn't restrict any particular muscle groups that would help at all in martial arts (or anything else, for that matter). It just kinda weighs down on you and cuts off circulation to your feet, which is bad for you in the long run. I'd stick with the armbands and greaves.

it does help, cause it forces the legs. you get stronger legs from carrying that weight. I know cause I have strong legs from when I was heavy. But a whole vest isn't something i'd do. well maybe for a while, but the wristbands and ankle bands they add weight to the legs as well.
I'd add more weight to those weights.
