I don't believe psionics in their raw form should be taught, even though I voted 'yes.' There are far too many unknowns, and subjecting those talented with psi to the public education system and its flaws could essentially throw a massive wrench into the ideas behind psi itself. As far as I'm concerned, until someone is old enough to understand psi in it's own right, they do not need to know of nor be taught of its presence. This person may well never exhibit any talents in psi to begin with, and teaching them those same talents before they can understand it's inherent qualities could cause any number of problems.
Think of it this way. You'll get psi-punks. Who wants a bully who can mess with your mind AND your body?
Now, education in a slightly different way, specialized for psi itself by mentors who understand the intricacies around it, this is perfectly fine. By using a mentor-tutor system, you won't have psi peer-pressure, and those talented in it won't be rushed by government standards to achieve some specific level they may never attain.

good point. Of course the students would be taught not use these abilities for attacking others. Perhaps a prescreening or an interview with each student who wishes to be in the class would solve that problem.

Karen is right but it will take years if we start now like maybe 2 or 4 but in the future people would think over it so they can use us for millitary things probally and thats the only reason why so we can when wars thats how the us is so duscusting.

Sorry to say, but I really hate this idea. Just because there are those people out there who will abuse this. We do this because we are serious about this, we like doing this. If it was taught it school, you know it wouldn't be taken seriously. And can you say Psi vamps? They'll be all over the place. And I agree with geo. It shouldn't be offered in school, it should be left for people to discover. If you've ever read (somewhere on this site) I posted that I believe we stumble onto this subject of psi and tk and everything else, because it is part of our life path. I believe that if this is all truly part of somebodies life path, they will find out about it on their own.

people should learn that people have the beliefs but the stuff we do should not be taught in school.
the main thing I noticed is everybody learns at their own pace in order for what they are learning to be of any use for them.
This would be a subject more for college.

Well theres good things that could come out of this happening, and bad things
good things: everyone would get a higher interest in science, learning psi in many cases improves the mind, and body. Helps relaxes the mind and body, everyone gets a new skill. i bet theres more reasons that I just cant think of.
bad things: people get obsessed with too much power, this world hasn't been experienced too something like this, and it could be dangerous, students could be competing to master something first, and forcing something like that can never end up good, the people could get very injured. If there was a psionics class in school starting soon, IT WOULD NOT BE GOOD, even if every student had an interview, or something, still, students would do something stupid causing something bad to happen, and everyone knows that if you're stressed out or mad, and try psionics nothing good happens
In my opinion, i do not think that psionics should be in like public schools, or in some cases private, its too dangerous, people get competitive, and it just wont end up good. Humans always want power, and when they get it, they will try their hardest to improve it. So i say "no", thats my opinion.
