eevery martial arts runs into energy use somewhere down the line it just depends to what extent that they actually go.

Is Tai Kai a defense type of martial arts? I know its Ninjutsu.

As meep said tai kai is japanese for competition. If you know it's ninjutsu then it's ninjutsu.

your school may not, but it is there on deeper levels. look up the words ki, tanjun, ki-hap (which is NOT just a shout)

I do Tae Kwon Do and yes we do do a little energy work and meditation.
