For the purposes of this project, I will be repeatedly referring to an Aether, also known as an Ether. The Aether was originally one substance within the classical elemental system; earth, wind, water, and fire. The 'luminiferous aether' as it was known was believed to be a substance, lighter than air, that was composed of incredibly small particles and provided light, hence the term 'luminiferous,' or light-bearing, glowing, lighted, etc. There may also be a subsequent opposite to the Aether in the classical system, but I must first recover those notes.
The goal of this research is to provide data and support for a new view of the classic Aether through ideas inherent to chaos and string theory, as well as multiplanar theory and the field of psychology, namely the psychological studies of C. Jung.
The Aether, as we will be referencing it in this research, represents a seperate, yet bonded plane complementary to our own, by this it is meant that:
A) The Aether is it's own plane, but not a seperate one, and can be seen as a 'facet' of reality.
B) The Aether is permanently bonded to and a part of our own facet.
C) The Aether is NOT the astral plane, the two are not mutually exclusive, but are and will remain entirely different concepts.
D) If planar 'levels' were to be observed, we may see results similar to the following:
'Higher' planes of existence
-Aether
-Physical reality
---Consciousness
-----Subconscious
It is important to note that the Aether is not a seperate plane of existence, instead it is simply a part of our own. We will also be working on the theory that consciousness and the subconscious are also facets of physical reality, though on a different spectrum than the Aether and other planes.
We will also discuss the difference between 'facet' and 'plane.' A facet is, essentially, a piece of the whole, much like the side of a diamond. It represents both a piece of the whole unto itself, as well as providing a view of the entirety.
A plane, however, may be seen as a universe or existence parallel to our own. Imagine two sets of railroad tracks: each track is its own plane, they may intersect or come close at times, but they are entirely seperate.
For the purposes of this project, the Aether is a substance or material intangible (non-physical), yet a part of our existence that we may use psi or other forms of energy to influence or touch. It is also a facet.
Also important, the Aether as we will examine it cannot by passed into spiritually, as one might think of the 'astral plane.' This is due to the simple idea that the Aether in and of itself has no capability to support a form of existence by a mortal spiritual entity because it is a facet, not a plane. However, we will not discount the possibility of other entities coexisting through the Aether instead of our physical existence.

More information will be forthcoming as I research further and develop my own theories, or pass on those of other people. Chaos theory is a particularly critical part of this representation of the Aether, and will be explained in more detail later on.
We may also explore the possibility of other planes, but it is unknown if this directly pertains to the project at hand.
If you would like to volunteer to assist in an experiment, feel free to do so. You must be able to understand basic psionic skills and exhibit a willingness to cooperate and flexibility about procedures, as well as accept a minor level of risk in some cases, however, efforts will be made to lower these risks in whatever ways possible. No experiment will be made that will purposely negatively influence or effect the participant/assistant.
Above all is a level of trust, you must demonstrate an aptitude for coherent speech as well as be able to provide an entirely honest report of the effects and results. Exaggeration or a false response WILL NOT benefit this project in any way.
