Okay, I am training for astral projection now, with the help of my mentor (thanks so much, spilledchemicals!) and everybody else on PsiWorld too. From now on, whenever I AP, I will make a post here.
*waits in suspense for a moment*
Well, there's nothing as of yet, but keep waiting! There will be soon!

OK, I decided to make this separate from my introduction post. This is the record of exactly my second out-of-body projection. (Well, my first one was basically just the sensation of rising, so I don't know if that counts.)
Anyway, last night I woke up a little after midnight because all the blankets had been kicked off my bed. I remembered in time the technique I read recently in an astral projection book, and stayed perfectly still to remain in what he called the "hypnagogic state". Then I tried to use the roll-out technique.
Amazingly, after a few tries, it worked! I felt like I was falling into a deep hole, and it took a lot of effort to keep my physical body still. (I desperately wanted to catch hold of the bed!) I just kept falling and falling...
Then I suddenly found myself in my friend Austin's bedroom. It wasn't like I fell in there, it was like one second I was falling and the next I was there. This didn't seem strange at the time. (When I woke up and wrote it down, it did, but I then realized it was probably because Austin believed in psi as well and my consciousness was somehow attracted to another believer...?)
Anyone, once there, I flew around for a bit, trying to get used to my astral body. I was only there for a few minutes before I felt this tingling sensation run through my entire "body". According to my book, this was my body trying to pull me back. I though to use the roll-out technique again and the tingling eventually faded away.
I tried to talk to Austin then. I said, "Hey dude, I did it!" or something similar. Austin was asleep, but I could very clearly hear him say something back. However, now I don't remember what it was, nor do I remember anything I did for the rest of the projection, which lasted for about an hour.
But, I did it!!!

A night or two ago, I was up with my family in Seattle. We had gone on vacation for a few days, and had been running all over, visiting museums, etc. Anyway, by the time we got home, I was seriously tired. I barely had the energy to change into my pajamas before I flopped onto my bed and closed my eyes. I feel asleep almost immediately.
Once again, like last time, I woke up during the night and for some reason thought that I was still asleep. After a few moments, I remembered that I was in a hotel room, and then quickly remembered that I was asleep...
So I tried to use the roll-out technique again. I got the falling sensation, and everything was black. I expected it to resolve into something, but it did not. I was just in some sort of black void. Remembering what the author of my astral projection book sometimes did, I commanded "Clarity Now!" My surroundings then resolvedinto what appeared to be my bedroom at home. (Which, now that I think about it, was odd, since I was actually in a hotel room.) Anyway, I had planned a while ago that the next time I tried to AP, then I would go to the Vong planet (from Star Wars), to see if it was possible. I concentrated on, "Vong Now!" (It just seemed like the right thing to do at the time.)
In a second, my bedroom faded away, and I was floating above a huge rain forest sort of place. I flew down and explored for a while. It seemed amazingly realistic. I could touch the trees, I felt the cool breeze, and I even swam in a nearby ocean when I found it!!! It was a very cool experience. I didn't encounter any Yuuzhan Vong, but it was still very fun.
Now I have discovered something very cool: on the astral plane, there is no such thing as *reality*. You can go absolutely anywhere in your imagination. Of course, I "knew" this before, due to other people's experiences, but know I really "know". You know?

Okay, first of all, I'm going to log another projection I experienced recently. I was staying in a yurt with my family on the Oregon coast. If anyone knows what a yurt is, then kudos to you. For those normal people who don't, it's basically a huge wooden frame with a canopy stretched over it, and filled with furniture to make it look nice. Conveniently, on our first night there, a huge storm spread over the coast. The winds were literally up to hurricane force, and no one could go to sleep because we were all afraid that a tree would fall on us or something during the night.
Anyway, I was lying there on the top bunk with the blankets pulled over me completely, burying my head in the pillow, and I decided that I wanted to project, just to get away from the storm. Unfortunately, the only way I had projected so far was while in the hypnagogic state (body asleep, mind awake), and I had only ever gotten there by waking up during the night.
So I just lay there and repeated over and over in my head, "I am going to consciously project tonight." I guess this is called affirmation, according to my AP book. Anyway, I repeated this over and over, and I eventually drifted off into sleep, although I can't remember the exact moment this happened.
When I woke up in the morning, I was feeling very groggy and could barely climb down from the bunk-bed before I collapsed onto the sofa. It was then that my mom walked in from the kitchenette area. Seeing that I was awake, she started complaining about how my book had apparently fallen on her during the night.
Almost as soon as she said this, this fuzzy memory floated up in my mind about standing next to the bottom bunk (where she was sleeping) and watching this little drama play out. A flood of memories started to come back to me then. Apparently I had projected out into the forest surrounding our yurt for most of the night. But I don't think I was conscious during the projection, or if I was, then I completely forgot about it.
This was a very interesting projection. I will have to try the affirmation technique again soon, maybe tonight. I've also had a good idea: is it possible to form a construct which could project me on command? Well actually I've been tossing this idea around for a while now, but I have never done anything with it. According to most sources I have read, you can program a construct to do anything that you yourself can do. So this would be possible, right?
Secondly. If you need help with astral projection, bigdognick6, then feel free to PM me. I am honored to offer any techniques or information that you might need. You might also want to contact spilledchemicals, who mentored me and taught me everything I know about astral projection.
More soon!
