Once there was a man in a house. He liked his house very much. Days past, moons set, suns rise, and he begins to wonder as we all do some days wether we know it or not. As the man thinks he wishes to learn more about his house. He learns about every detail, but as we all know, there are always some things that you can not understand even though you could spend a life time of watching.
Eventually the man learned all he could, he learned about the houses low points as well as the high. He then left the house to come apon an abandoned city. The city was immense and in a few weeks, the man was able to learn everything he could about it. This started to bore him because he now knew everything that lied in his domain. That was untill he decided to take a closer look at the library. Once the man taught himself to read he then started to learn as much as he possibly could.
The library, limited in knowledge but still seemingly endless held a somewhat eternal trap for the man and he saw this as well. That was when he decided to stop looking within for what he was seeking and started to look for it with out. Now, at his point some may ask, well why did he start seeking what what is it that he was looking for? Some might say he was looking for god, some, wisdom, but no one can know what the man seeks. But its is that this point we must ask, how will he seek what he is looking for. And the way the man must go in order to find this great thing must be in a path. Where is this path? The man asked that same question as he climbed to the tallest building to look out beyond the horizon.
Beyond the city to the North there was a path, to the East was a Ocean, and the South and West, mountains. The man decided to wait a few days and sort things out. What should he do? He remebered seeing a couple of people walk the path that lead into the forest so he was curious as to what lied beyond the forest. So, he packed his bags and left. Following the trail he met many people, and at the end another city, much like the one he lived in. The man was bored with citys and decided to return to his own.
After rethinking his plans, the man quickly packed once again and began to the mountains. But before he left he thought about burning the place down. Why? Well, he didn't need it of course, but then he thought about the danger it put him against and decided against it heading into the mountains.
Once in the mountains the man became bored and some what worried because the the vastness of the mountains. Everyonce in a while he would ask the ball of fire in the sky to show him a sign for what he was looking for. Eventually the man became content with what he had. But once again he began to second guess what he had done then returned to his city.
In the city, he reliazed that what ever he was looking for had to be accross the sea. But before the realization could be made the man would first have to build a builidng that would take many years. It as after those many years that he finally packed everything for the final trip.
On his raft that he built he looked out into th ocean then into the sky. He though about praying to the ball of fire once again but something told him that it could not, help him. Only he could help himself.
After many months at sea and his food running low he sat down in his boat, looked up into the sky and wondered, what am I searching for and why can't I find it?
Note: There are many metaphors in this, most are intentional.
Enjoy ;D
