Yes, in a perfect world it is better to make everyone perfect.
But the world is not perfect, not even close. You can not ignore the the fact that no matter how hard we try, there will always be people who kill other people. Always, it is not something that can be eliminated. But we sure as hell can limit it. Is a one month waiting period where you undergo a background check and a psiocological test really that much time to wait?
I believe in freedom, but not the freedom of someone else to go buy a gun and use it to kill someone. That's what people are capable of. It happens all the time. I'm not saying take away the 2nd amendments, people have a right to a gun for protection, but a period of time to make sure the buyer is not insane is not asking much.

Limiting rights guaranteed to us is worth eliminating a few insane people from a means to violence? I suggest you check out what Ben Franklin thought about this. Also if someone wants to kill someone there are a lot of ways to do it without guns. No, eating away at the constitution has never been a good solution to any problem.

It's not eliminating the right genius.

It's not eliminating the right genius. I never said it was eliminating the right, I said it was limiting the right. Keep your **** in check. Pick fights on a flame forum. If you are legitimately interested in exchanging ideas on the subject then so be it, but keep your wise cracks to yourself.

Clinton and Edwards would be disasters if they entered the White House. As bad as they'd be, however, Huckabee would be ten times worse. He's the most conservative not a very nice person I've ever met, he's trying to ban abortion even in cases where carrying pregnancy to term would threaten the life of the mother, and he's the most militantly homophobic of all the candidates. He needs to die, be resurrected, be tortured, then killed again, then resurrected again, then raped by a fat man named Bubba, then tortured some more, then killed again, then have his body burned and his ashes sealed in separate vials stored in high-security areas around the globe, which would then be nuked and pissed on.

I can understand the Clinton comment, but Edwards? Why would he be so bad as president? I agree that I do not want him as president because there are better choices, but I do not see him as being a terrible president either.

I think Edwards would be a great president. Everyone always talks a lot of junk before they get elected. But look here, I am from New York. I voted for Hillary Clinton when she ran for Senator, and you know what has happened since then?
Not very much. There was this guy she hired, Spitzer, who is now in Washington I believe, who tried to get land from the Seneca Nation, which is our natives for you who dunno what im on about, and tried to put taxes out on everything they had there. If they would have stuck with it, maybe I could be convinced that I was wrong, and they were right. But they didn't stick with it... they made deals for Casinos downtown, but not here in the boonies where people suffer the most.
Obama isn't really much different from Hillary. A lot of his take on things is pretty much the same as Hillary, but I would rather see Obama in office than Hillary, because at least he has a record of doing something, even if he hasn't been in government for too long.
In the end, the thing I like most about Edwards is that he can speak totally unscripted in front of a live audience at any given time about any given subject. This is a guy who can look you right in the eye, tell you what he is going to do, and you can trust in him that he is going to do it. Sure, he might do things that some of us don't like... such is politics, right? But think about it; even if he does something we don't like, at least he let us know before he did it. Edwards will get done what he says he will get done. To my knowledge, the US hasn't had a president who got done what he said he would get done before he was elected in quite a long time. amirite?
