It's not so much the issues that make me dislike Edwards. I've formed most of my opinions--on Edwards, unlike the other candidates--from watching the debates. He's a lot like Clinton in that the majority of his campaign involves bashing his competitors. When he actually does agree to discuss the issues, the only thing that comes out of his mouth is a bunch of prerecorded political mumbo-jumbo. If I were running for President, I'd actually, why'know answer people's questions. Granted, Obama's not so good on answering questions either, but at least he's not running a smear campaign, and at least I can support him on most of his positions (not all of 'em, mind you, but most). McCain, unlike all of the other candidates with a chance, is actually open and honest about his policies, and a goodly number of them aren't uberconservative. If I could put anyone currently running for President in the White House, though, it'd be Richardson. He has the best foreign policy and energy plans so far. Whoever wins should seriously consider him for Secretary of State.

I'm not disagreeing with you. Sounds like a very valid opinion, one I would have myself. But I wonder if we are seeing the same John Edwards? He was on MTV a few months ago and was answering questions directly from a random audience right in the studio.
I am really only concerned with college costs, education policies, and health care. Every working family should have the best health care possible, and the truth is that we aren't getting it. I know a lot of people like to blow their star-spangled trumpets, and say it's not as bad as it sounds, but it really actually is. I know what it's like to grow up with a mouth full of cavities. I know what it's like to get stabbed in the eye and not have the insurance to see a proper doctor; i had to borrow money for that, and like many Americans, I am in debt. I don't know if we are watching the same things, Darin, but John Edwards is the only candidate who has truthfully and sincerely told me directly that I am heard, and I am not alone.
Yes, you heard correctly. I spoke to a representative via email when I contacted him directly. He is the only candidate who has ever replied to me directly, and he didn't do it to look cool in front of everyone... he was really just concerned about me and this country.
So, yeah... that's enough really. Those are my only 2 concerns, but to be honest I am not really all too big on all of this, because in the end there are 2 sides of this problem, and one is federal while the other is state and local governments. Our parts finally got a decent exec in office so we will probably see things turning around now. In the end, a lot of the important issues, like cost of living, are really all left to the county and state.
