There are some ghosts out there, I believe, who have gone insane from being on this plane for too long. They have lost all ability to move on. Would it be right then, to end their existence, instead of letting them wander, broken, until some malevolent spirit corrupts or consumes them?

I believe it would be better to try to repair the damage they have obtained over that period of time. Personally, I focus on mental/emotional/energy healing more than physical, so I have a few methods of doing such things. It takes a lot more time and energy to repair than to destroy in this case, but it is better in my eyes.

I was never suggesting destroying their energy, I was mearly suggesting rending its mind from its energy, and sending the energy to a higher purpose.

I do not mean destroy as in cause to end existence, but destroy as in rend apart and prevent from ever forming back together in that same form.

Try changing their energy, purify and cleanse them, they'll feels better and so will you, also figure out why they don't move on and see if you can help them further. It all works out, you don't have to destroy anything, and they are helped in a peaceful way.

As I have said, you do not destroy the energy, you separate the consciousness from it, and send the energy somewhere else. The consciousness dwindles from the lack of energy, and simply stops.
