Licence thing

So yesterday a friend was giving me a ride back to my job during a lunch break

and at a red light

i caught myself staring at this license plate on our right
i was going over the plate again and again
when i realized it, i was like wtf
but
the light turned green and this big 18 wheeler on our left kinda scraped my friend's car

but didn't do much damage

anyway, the friend was like, that's okay, i didn't get the plate anyway

but i did, b/c... i dunno, i just kept looking at the semi's plate as it drove away
TDSTDU (I think.. either that or TDSTD4)

what would you call something like that? Precognition, right?

Someone from another site told me if I was further along in my "training," then I could have seen the whole thing, not just the license plate... i woulda been able to prevent it.
