Maybe someone can give me some advice on a little issue I have been having. The last week it would seem that I am lucid dreaming, but it has a little twist. I am aware of my dreams and continue to dream while I am consciously aware of everything around my body.
An example would be this morning. I was sleeping and having dreams when my dad comes into the room. I heard him and saw him, but the dreams I was having were still continuing. I know it sounds a bit strange. It certainly feels weird seeing two things at the same time. Yet, I was certain I was still asleep, but I wasn't aping because I felt my body as if I was awake.
I am not entirely sure what it is I am doing, but I am not getting rested like a person is supposed to when they go to sleep. I am kind of curious to what it is that I am doing. Anybody know and any advice?

...I don't know but it sounds pretty fucked up... If you aren't getting any sleep go to a sleep specialist and ask him. Or go to a very good psion who might be or have been have the same problem as you.

I believe you are Ap'ing but not moving away from your body... I've succesfully Ap'ed 3 times now, and all of them via Lucid Dreaming.. It feels as if your look at anything normal and feel anything normal, and in the astral you feel the same way... Or at least I do, I feel the breeze on my astral self when I go outside, and feel the gravel but it does not bother or hurt me. IF during this lucid dreaming you have, you hear wierd noises loud whooshing sounds or mabey feel a detached feeling then you are deffinetly Ap'ing... Good luck

I have Aped before, and I know the detached feeling. I thought I could have Aped by accident, but as I noticed it, I didn't feel detached at all. In fact I feel as if I am in my body somehow. It confuses me, but thanks for the comments. I'll figure it out hopefully.

Well, it might have been your sences.
All your sences, besides your eyes are increased by alot when your sleeping. Since your memory is also good you could have remembered how the room look like and projected what it would look like. People who have High sences and cant see can "see" the world. I have done this alot, so it might be the same.

Well i think that it is likely for you to be partially asleep and awake. Your dad probably was talking to you to get awake and you were half awake with the dream still doing sugar plums in your head...lol just an expression. I bet you are a heavy sleeper !!!

luicd dreaming, happens to me alot, espically when i sleepy, but not in a spot comfortable enought to fall asleep.
i begining to get a little control over them now. when i really want to sleep (like when i dont sleep or 24 hours) i can sit up in the chair and close my eyes, and then begin dreaming, but i know that im sitting down and aware for whats going on around me

Sometimes this happens to me and I believe that the dream hold some importance if you ddin't hae the ablilty to turn it off while semi-concious. Maybe you should see how it fits with your life.
