I've done this ever since I was little, but lately it's been happening way more often. I'll either be falling asleep or waking up. When I'm falling asleep, it's like I'm still (almost) fully awake, and then I'll start dreaming, but I still know I'm awake. When I'm waking up, I'll be dreaming something, and then I'll realize it's morning, and I'll (usually) decide I don't want to wake up. So I'll be aware of my surroundings, but the dream will keep playing in my mind. The only time when it goes away is if I open my eyes. It's really confusing because it's like REM sleeping and being awake at the same time, which I'm quite sure is impossible. Could it maybe be something else, or am I just strange?

Also, I sometimes do this thing where I know I am dreaming and can start to act of my own accord in it, but not wake up/I know my dream is going to turn into a nightmare and I force myself to wake up. Or where I'm halway between dreaming and being awake, and I'm trying to figure out if my dream was reality or not.

I know what you're talking about. We usually have all done it before, so, it's not a weird thing to worry about.

I've been able to fall asleep for 1 minute, then wake up like I just had about 8 hours. I think it's possible. I've had it happen before, in fact, it happens many times. I've been totally asleep while playing games before. I'd be asleep, and it's like my hands move by themselves. I'm asleep, my mind is, but my body isn't. That's what it seems like.

Thanks! Your "falling asleep for one minute and feelig like eight hours" sounds something like what I've done once and twice, except it's backwards. I closed my eyes for no more than two seconds, or so it seemed. When I opened my eyes, it was morning, and my position had not changed. Hmmm....

Yep. Supposidly we somehow used something called Chronokinesis, which is changing your perspective on time movement and altering time movement. I don't know if that's what it was, but it could have been. I'm currently trying to figure out how to use chronokinesis.

That happens to me when I'm thinking sometimes. I'll start dreaming, but somehow I'm able to keep focus on what I'm thinking at the same time. It happened this morning.

Dream always seem to last forever when I sleep. Once I had a dream where I was on a voyage and I was three whole days in that dream, in a span of 7 hours.

From how you described it, it sounds like you have a knack for WILD, wake-induced lucid dreaming. I don't think your still conscious when your dreaming, you probably have a really fast and vivid WILD where you think your still conscious. At the same time though, a fast WILD doesn't seem very likely. Hmm...

That sounds like a possible theory...it happened again last night. Unfortunately, when I stopped dreaming (which I did consciously, I decided to stop dreaming and so I did) I could barely remember anything from my dream. Something about MySpace, though I don't have one. Hmm. Strange indeed.

please do not double post.
It was probably extremely lucid dreaming or astral projection.

But why would it be AP? Since when was he out of his body? I thought he was dreaming.

I've had something like this before only I woke up from the half sleep pretty quick (I still had my eye's open by the way) and my cat walked into the room and started talking to me (I'm 100% serious). It scared me so much I actually stood up on my bed, when I "woke up" and almost put my head through my roof)
