I'm getting certified in CPR...well areéaction cardio-pulmonaire, although they are the same thing. Anyone else certified, or going to be certified? Why'd you get certified?
I'm learning it so that I can be a lifeguard this summer. ;D It's something that's evidently required.

Everyone in 9th grade at my school had to learn it and it was good for 2 years. So I sort of remember it, but good for you!

I'm taking SCUBA for my degree and part of the NAUI SCUBA course is CPR and First Aid. Most of it I already know from Boy Scouts but now i'll actually be certified!

I had a small course on high school, I don't remember very well... I mean I remember the movements but not how many times to do each one... Yeah...

I am. It's 2 breaths, 30 compressions, 80 compressions a minute, repeat cycle until medics arrive or they have a pulse and can breathe on their own. Yeah, it's been a while, like a year or so since I was qualified. It's just easy to remember after a while.

I think it's 100 compressions per minute. Not sure though.

The way I learned it, it was 2 rescue breaths, 30 compressions, 80 compressions a minute rate, check for signs, repeat.

Really? The way I learned it was 2 rescue breaths, 30 compressions, then repeat 5 times. Check for signs, and repeat.

I'm learning it now and we were told 2 breaths, 30 compressions at about 100 per minute (can vary), repeat until medics arrive or they breathe for themselves.

Of course it does vary depending on the teacher and the program. They may say "Oh that's too fast" or "That's too slow". As long as you do it the way your trained then nothing will go wrong!
