I personally will never vote. All I can see in politics, is people taking stabs at each other. Every politician is corrupt. They all have sides, that they don't want people to know about. However, it's always dug up, and in return, the attacking politician has something about him let loose to the public. President runnings have turned into more of a "Take stabs at each other, then fool around and do nothing in the white house." rather than "Run a good race, and actually address issues once in the white house."
Most politicians have no desireable traits, and thus, I don't see a need to vote. What are your opinions?

If i could vote i would. I'm a democrat. Sometimes it's funny to see people try to win something that they know that will just show how much of a jerk and how good they can put people down. That's how I see other people running, they use their opponents weakness against them. That's not fair. I mean, it is, but, it's cruel.

I'm in Canada and every year it is either the Liberals or Conservatives that win but in about a years time when I can vote I am voting Green Party. They are the only group that is actually doing something about the environment but we live in a mediacracy so it'll be a while before the Green Party will ever win.

The point of voting isn't to get a corrupt politician into office, it's to elect the least stupid of the three candidates. I'll always vote, usually for the candidate that has some morals. I'm extremely moderate, though I do swing liberal sometimes. Yes, I was for Bush winning the 2000 elections. I knew he was an idiot, but he couldn't possibly have screwed up the country any more than Gore would've. Gore would have gotten us slaughtered in Afghanistan, or, failing that, destroyed our nation's economy. In '04, we had a choice between an idiot and a wimp, we picked the idiot again. I was for Kerry that time, since at least he wasn't corrupt. Unfortunately, Bush supporters managed to pull through.

Bush is an idiot in my opinoin. If he was re-elected again, if it could happen, our country will be in so much debt we wouldn't be able to work as slaves to get out. I think that this war should stop, bring all our troops out, and let Iraq fight it out. It seems harsh, but it's what I think should be done.

Well here's what I think about the whole war idea...
Ok, if the media would get the heck out of afghanistan, and let the soldiers do what they have to do to win this war, It would be over sooner. Lets just think about this, I think it's wrong to hurt innocent people, but think about it, would they even think twice about hurting many civilians of our country? Did they think of how many thousands of people were killed on 9/11? War is not supposed to be something good. war is war. If they need to do something that isn't nescesarilly "morally correct" but it will stop our soldiers from getting killed, so be it. If we keep doing what we are doing now, we are going to lose more soldiers, than people they would lose if we would go to drastic measures. I know this sounds harsh, but this war is lasting to long, it needs to end, and if we just pull the soldiers out, they will bomb us. So there will be a point where we must decide. We bomb them, and we stay alive, or they bomb us and we all die. It's survival of the fittest, and we gotta do what we gotta do to stay alive.

I have a cousin who just got sent back to Kuwait for the 2nd time (this time it's a fifteen month tour) and my best friend's boyfriend is going to be deployed within the month, also. There's nothing that I want more for the troops than to come home and be safe. I may not have the best views of Bush's actions (although I have to say that after 9-11, I was all for bombing the living daylights out of Bin Ladin and his gang of hell hounds) but I do support the troops. They may be doing some things we don't like under whoever's command, but they're still someone's father or mother, sister or brother, daughter or son.

Don't bring out bombs. The longest war, in my oppinion, is better than going on a bombing spree. I think that we should lay down all firearms, bombs, jets(military), give the two leaders a pair of gloves and let them beat each other up. The problem with that is that the dumb boxer would be president. The upside is, the dumb boxer would be president. I vote. Just cause i can. I try to vote right, even though it's hard. The problem with politics, at least here, is not even all that corruption. Lets face it, in these days, corruption is what makes the world go round. The thing is, no one in our political circles cares about our country. We have the stading party (the ones that were elected, the Socialist Party), and the opposition (the Social-Democratic party). And whatever the SP says, the SDP says no. If the SP says "we'll bring more money to the country, spend more money on hospitals, schools, authority, we'll create jobs, everything", the SDP will just say "That's absurd! What you should do is give me money! give it all to me!". Unfortunately, not even a bit of the first sentence comes into play. The whole show is filmed and aired in a cable channel (parliament TV), and all you see are personal attacks, and people calling each other incompetent and stupid. I blame the parties. If there wasn't such a gathering of people with the same interest (either corruption or a "free job that pays well"), people would have to look out for the next one, to make sure he wasn't being corrupt, and couldn't be corrupt themselves cause they were being watched. People wouldn't know each other, and , without anything to say/do that would endanger themselves, they would have to eventually work for the country, the way it's always been meant to be. Unfortunately, no one gives me any credit

Or just become a libertarian and think that people should be allowed to do whatever they want as long as it does not directly harm anyone else.

Oh how I detest politics, I hate them so much I dont think I'll post in a tread about them... *cricket chirping* *looks around* well bugger... heheh, ok my two cents on bush. Bush is not as much of an idiot everyone thinks he is. He is just defiant, a drunk, and is never satisfied with the size of his wallet. Ever read those old comics you found in the newspaper? Well I used to read one called "Non-sequiter" and every now and again they used to have these skits "What was said, what was meant or heard", here is a simple example; What was said; Bush; "I believe that Iraq has oil that my daddy would like to have to cause it would make all of us Bushes richer." What was heard; Bush; "We have reason to believe that Iraq carries weapons of mass destruction." Politics is a waste of time because what the people really want, the government wont give us, rather they brainwash us into wanting something that they want that will make them money. It is also a waste of time because most of the time when the government wants something big to go down, they always meet in secret anyways. So whats the difference? I am seriously considering studying up so I can run for president someday, maybe then I can set this world straight, and get assasinated for it by the people who really run this country... woohoo!! Vote for Jerry J. if you ever see him in the ballots!

Becoming an anarchist has nothing good in store. We need to respect the boundries of our country. We need to have a system to control ownage. Who owns this land? look at the paper, Mr Smith does. The government just needs to be rid of the nest of corruption laid down by parties. People go in clean and come out dirty.

I would vote, but I imagine for every intelligent reason I have for picking a president somebody is voting against me for more stupid reasons. Example: I've always voted this way, I don't support abortion, gays being liberal, higher taxs, but I always vote this way...
People in America mostly vote republican or democrat. Darin said we only pick the most intelligent and brave president though who we have to vote for don't quite have those characteristics anymore. We should not forget that there other parties and independent runners who fair a lot better then who run for president.
