What do you all think about windows vista, experience wise, and not saying "IT SUXXORS!!!111" when you've never used it for more than a week straight. Here's mine(originally from a blog):
What are your experiences with vista?

i feel sorry for you man.
i dont own a laptop, but some of my friends do, and some got Vista.
vista is just about the looks, cause thats all its got going for it. it uses up memory and dosnt run games as effectively as Win XP (so some of my friends have XP along with Vista)
but what i noticed the most was when im working in flash. on XP, when you select an object, it automatically/ instantly gets selected. but on Vista, you have to wait on this expanding box thing. you dont notice how annoying this is untill you actually done flash on XP.
so there, guess i did it, without actually saying 'IT SUCKS'. but apart from that, it 'looks' good

My Vista Experience... Horrible. I got suckered out of my other good laptop for this crappy one, Best Buy said it was better. This thing only has bout 509 total RAM, and about a 70 gig hard drive. I got a Celeron M processor, at 1.86 GHz. Not too bad, but Vista Home Basic sucks. I would be happy if my grandparents got Ultimate for my birthday. If I get Ultimate, does everything that I have right now go onto that? Or do I just have to start basically anew? With Ultimate (from what I've seen with computers with home basic/premium), it runs MUCH faster than home, even though more services run on it. Ultimate is more of the performance side of things, like gaming. It takes quite of bit MORE tweaking in home basic/premium to get it running fast as Ultimate would when it's tweaked.

What I meant was, if I update to Windows Vista Ultimate, does it keep all of my info and stuff and just upgrade to Ultimate, or does it start back to like a regular Ultimate thing? With none of my stuff I have from Home Basic?

no you get the upgrade CD you can find at best buy or something, then it should keep your files

Actually, I'm unsure about that. I'm assuming it's just like an upgrade from windows 98 to windows xp, keeping all your files and information.

I don't have it on my 'puter, but the college has it on their computers and it's confusing as heck. I had to ask someone how to print something. Grrr, I hate looking stupid like that. I suppose if I used it more, I wouldn't mind it as much and maybe even like it. I've heard a lot of mixed feelings about it and how you can't send files from a 2007 to a 2003 model.

THe sending files from newer technology to older technology is still possible.

Not with Microsoft, they want to force everyone to buy new software at $600 a pop by changing the format for no reason.
If you want to share things with older computers, save the file as a .html, as anything can read that without problems.

Well, I see how you would want Ultimate, because it's better than everything else. I hope it does, if I do get it, but it's expensive. I guess it might be worth it, but with the hassles and everything, i don't know.

Business, home, and anything lower than those give more hassles.
