GM foods, as some may know are genetically modified foods, also know as GE foods, genetically engineered foods.
Well anyway, should GM foods be allowed?

you mean like growing certain types of corns so when they pollinate they breed a new type of corn? For future reference, this is what I'm talking about when I say I want good posts. I want you to give more background and define terms so questions like this don't have to be asked before we can get around to explaining our views on the matter.

Well Gm foods are quite simple, their genes are modified. So the corn is an odd colour or has some sort of odd flavour? What's wrong with that? Could you give an example. |

It is said that the long term affect can be deadly, may causing cancer.
Though they say "may" they could actually know for a fact if it or if it doesn't.

Yes it does. Phones, computers, microwaves, driving, everything nowadays gives you cancer. I think they just want us to give more money. There's about a million other cheaper cures out there, but the hospitals won't use it because they won't make any money off of it. I think that GM food shouldn't be allowed. Sorry, Mickie D, but that means you!

Everything but hot sauce  Just kidding. I personally think GM/GE foods aren't a big issue, as long as we don't assume we can play god with everything we see. My brother says it's all natural. We got to this point through evolution, and our natural evolution sends us to do these things to survive. But i think otherwise. Evolution has not to do with racional things, but with instincts. With natural "defects" that can somehow be used for YOUR own survival. If we are able to use our intelligence to protect our entire race, where is the natural selection? if no one is "punished" for their evolutional misdirection? of course, on this day and age, natural selection has turned into human selection. Anyway, my point is, as long as we don't end any of the breeds we are taking the genes from, just to create a being that's more to our liking, i'm fine with it. But if we go and say "I'd rather have all dogs with 3 legs", that'd be a lot ahead of what i consider acceptable. A lot ahead. |

It is said that the long term affect can be deadly, may causing cancer. There is no conclusive evidence that GM foods pose a health threat to humans or the ecosystem. More than 1 trillion meals have been consumed 0 reliability documented human or animal safety issues. |

i thing that GM foods should be used as a last resote in countries like africa where the climat is hot and dry and a Modified corn or wheat plant will have more of a chance of surviving
